Warning for U.S. Buyers
The NOX AT10 Luxury Genius 12K is a very good padel racket — it feels solid, plays well, and performs as expected. However, buyers need to be aware of hidden costs that are not explained at checkout.
Although the racket is sold and shipped from Spain, it is actually manufactured in China. Because of that, U.S. Customs applied significant tariffs and duties when the racket entered the country. I was billed nearly $85 in unexpected fees after delivery, on top of the purchase price and shipping.
This lack of transparency is frustrating, and it turned what seemed like a fair deal into a much more expensive purchase. Future buyers should be warned: unless the seller provides clear information about origin and potential import charges, be prepared for surprise costs that make the value much less attractive.

Regarding your concern: since your order was shipped from Spain to the United States, it is subject to U.S. import regulations, which include potential tariffs, duties, and customs fees depending on the declared value and country of origin of the product.
Until recently, most padel rackets imported from Spain into the U.S. arrived without major issues. However, U.S. Customs has recently started applying tariffs to certain products manufactured in China, even if they are sold by European companies. This includes padel rackets like the NOX AT10 Luxury Genius 12K. It’s a new development that has caught many brands and sellers by surprise, and unfortunately, it affects all buyers — not just ours.
This change is similar to the removal of the previous $800 USD de minimis threshold, which used to allow most shipments under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. That exemption is now being restricted or revoked by U.S. Customs depending on the country of origin and trade policies, impacting all international e-commerce sellers shipping to the U.S.
While we try to be as transparent as possible, it’s true that the final import duties and handling fees are set and collected directly by U.S. Customs or the courier (such as FedEx or UPS) — not by us. That’s why:
We do not charge VAT or U.S. taxes at checkout (as the U.S. is outside the EU),
And we clearly state that shipments outside the EU are sent under DAP (Delivered At Place) terms — meaning any import duties are the buyer’s responsibility.
