Review of Xero

Regret trying through Cap One Shopping

Signed up for this service through Capital One Shopping. Was promised $75 in shopping rewards to signup and pay a monthly fee. Did it, later cancelled, then had the $75 clawed back but wasn’t given a refund. This seems to be the MO of companies that work with Cap One Shopping.

Xero’s product was garbage, they ripped me off, and I’ll never use them ever again.

Used bait and switch with Capital One Shopping

I have to agree with Core 4 Life. Most of these reviews are prompted, not unprompted like this one.

Doc Hub ripped me off, pure and simple. I signed up as part of a Capital One Shopping offer, wherein I received $150 in gift cards for signing up for their service.

I signed up, I was given said gift cards, and then yesterday these slimey toads took them back through the site. That’s according to Capital One Shopping, not me. So I’ll be disputing the charge for their service ok my credit card.

Also, their product stinks. I could do more with a free copy of Adobe. Wouldn’t use this product again if you paid me again—but you need to pay me what you owe me. I didn’t get what I paid for.

Many thanks for providing more details internally!
Our manager is in contact with Capital One now to investigate what exactly happened there. Either them, or us will get back to you very soon.
On a separate note though. We are not actually responsible for provision and/or reverting of those gift cards. This is fully organized on the Capital One side, and we have very little influence on this process as such. Hoping for your understanding here!

Review of Hyundai

Buyer beware - Hyundai is a scam

I purchased a new 2017 Hyundai Tucson Night Edition when the car was on a dealer lot, and it’s the worst financial decision I’ve made in my entire adult life. The car has been garbage since the moment I drove it off the lot, and for several years now I’ve been unable to change my insurance because companies refuse to insure this trash because of its association with the car theft issue that’s plagued this company’s cars for years.

I contacted Hyundai recently to complain about the garbage I’m dealing with insurance and requested an extended warranty for the rising cost of insurance due to their negligence — it’s gone up five years in a row, despite my having no tickets or accidents of any kind — but I was told by their rep, Asish, that I can kick rocks because they don’t care. I even sent them the letters from companies saying the reason they’re rejecting my insurance request is the “make and model” of the car!

They sold me a lemon. I’ll NEVER buy from Hyundai again. They have no accountability and they don’t stand behind the trash they made.

Review of Instacart

Instacart shouldn’t be allowed to run in US

I’m not sure how Instacart is allowed to operate in the US. Everything the company does is sleezy. From charging significant tax on delivered groceries, to weird gift card practices, to extremely poor customer service—nothing is right with this company.

I’ve been ripped off more times than I can count with what I feel is a bait and switch scam they’re running on Capital One Shopping, where they NEVER honor the owed rewards.

I’ll never use this app again and strongly recommend against all anyone ever being foolish enough to give them a try.

Review of Misfits Market

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Pretty good for a bunch of misfits

I have had a good experience with Misfits Market, but with a caveat.

I ordered Misfits Market as part of a rewards program that paid me gift cards as part of my purchase. Once I was in, I was able to "shop" for the food I wanted, so long as I hit $45 minimum.

When I did, the food arrived the day after my order window closed. All the food was clearly still fresh and in good shape.

My one minor quibble is that some of the vacuum packed items don't hold a good seal, so the vacuum pack ain't vacuum packed. The seal was bad for one item and I decided to eat it immediately rather than wait and watch it go bad quickly.

Would definitely give another try again sometime, but not at the current prices. Hope this place succeeds, though, because they take "misfit" foods and use them rather than waste them.

Get expert information fast

Overall, Just Answer is a great place to get information from professionals in a timely manner. I like Just Answer because I can ask a general question and be directed to someone who knows -- or can easily find -- the information I need.

The reason I am giving them four instead of five stars is the pricing model they use. I asked 1 question and was charged $5 for the answer. Easy enough. But that dovetails into a more expensive monthly subscription that saw me pay over $30. I think I'd prefer an option where I can just ask a question for $5 every time I have one. I don't necessarily need a subscription to expertise.

No major complaints. Easy to use. Will use again.

Review of Consumer Cellular

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Didn't get what I paid for

I would argue that I was a victim of a bait and switch scam with this company through the Capital One Shopping rewards program. I was told that if I bought Consumer Cellular service, I would receive $180 in gift cards. As far as I'm concerned, I bought those gift cards as part of opening the line of service.

I didn't receive those gifts cards. And more than that, when I called to close my account and pay my last bill, I specifically asked if I was all done with the company. I was told yes. Then, weeks later, I received a "final bill," AFTER I ALREADY CALLED THEM and closed the account and paid my final bill.

I will never use Consumer Cellular again. They scammed me. And since they refused to honor the agreement made at the time of my purchase -- because I didn't get what I paid for -- I've opened a dispute with my credit card. BUYER BEWARE.

I will not be changing this review. Period. They had a chance to give me what I'm owed and refused.

Review of Gobble

Among the best delivery food services around

Among the best delivery food services around. I never had a problem with delivery times, food quality, or food safety. I felt like restaurant food at home when I ordered from Gobble. Wish I could eat their meals every week forever. Definitely worth a try; you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Beware of excessive “taxes” not stated on receipt or agreement

Clown show of a car rental company. I prepaid for my car but agreed to pay for the gas ahead of time at the counter. I was told it would be $46.90 to prepay the gas. Works for me.

I was charged $58.69, about $12 more than I should have been.

I left review with the company and expressed my displeasure, and I was emailed the next day by Chloe, a general manager.

I sent her proof that I was clearly overcharged and her response to me was that the extra $12 was “tax.” First, what? $12 tax on $46? Also, why wasn’t the tax included in the charge?

Will never do business with this disreputable company again. Also, their cars suck. The car I was in had the most uncomfortable seats I’ve ever sat in. Will go Hertz or another more reputable company going forward. Save myself the headache and the clown show

Phony postcards that can’t be mailed

They sold me “postcards” for my wedding. They aren’t postcards. They’re small strips of paper that are too small to legally mail. USPS by law requires 3x5, but they sold them at 2x4. That’s not a postcard. A postcard, by definition, can be posted. These can’t. Thanks for ruining our wedding favors.

Update: customer service reached out and refunded my cost without me asking. I didn’t want the refund or ask for it, but I can’t give 1 star if I basically didn’t do business with them.

Stop selling bookmarks as postcards. The problem isn't selecting a size. The problem is 2x4 isn't a postcard; it's a bookmark.

Review of Accolade

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Never use Accolade.

My wife gets Accolade coverage through work. This past week, I had a severe case of strep throat and needed urgent care to get medication to get well. I tried using Accolade because I had been bedridden for days, had a temperature of 104 at times, and felt like I was dying. I made an appt with a doctor through their app, which said I needed to be ready at 1:45-2:00pm. The deadbeat never showed. I took pictures with time stamps as I sat and waited 30 minutes for the clown to never show. I then had to be dragged--almost literally--to an onsite urgent care to get the medication so that I could start doing well. The trip was a nightmare and cost me no end of pain. It all could have been avoided if this shady company did its job. I say shady, too, because they charged me $50 for no-showing my appt, even though it was the doctor, not I, who never showed. They should owe ME $50. I sent them an immediate email response demanding a refund and they didn't even respond. Scam. Don't use. Run. Avoid. Get real help. These people should be sued and not in business.
