Review of DPD UK

if it goes wrong, it goes very wrong

Bought a mattress. It was supposed to be delivered the next day as I need it urgently. I got a delivery notification with a time slot. Then I got a notification saying that they were running late. I called support, and they said it could turn up until 8pm so I stayed in all day. I called again the next day, and customer services just said that it was going to be delivered, but I eventually got a call back from the depot confirming it wasn’t out for delivery and they’d deliver it the next day by 12pm. The next day, again, there was no delivery. The powerless customer service team are unable to contact anyone on the ground for information or escalate cases to someone who can do anything useful. I’ve now been recommended to ask my supplier to raise a complaint on my behalf. I guess I’ll be sleeping on the floor!

Great bag for flights

After a recommendation from a colleague, I got the City Pack Pro Ultra. It's a really good bag, and fantastic as for taking on planes as a carry-on — it just fits under the seat in front. I recently came off my bike and I was sure that my laptop would have been destroyed, but everything was fine. My only criticism is that the padding at the bottom of the back of the bag has started to pill.

Review of Housing Ombudsman

Don't bother, get a decent solicitor instead.

Our landlord is trying to build flats on our flats. It's been a disaster. They have broken our roof. I've been in temporary accommodation for most of the year (except a period over the summer when I was made effectively homeless as my landlord refused to continue to provide temporary accommodation despite water coming through the ceiling). I referred the matter to the ombudsman, but they have taken no action. I would advise finding a reputable solicitor to take a no-win-no-fee case instead.
