Cost effective over door canopy

A plastic piece together over door canopy that looks great. As mentioned in other reviews, instructions are a little unhelpful re: the illustrations but overall, it’s not too difficult to put together. We had an issue with our installer (not affiliated to UK Canopies) not correctly fitting the white tiles that belong underneath the canopy but I had good support from them especially as when I submitted the photo of the installed canopy, they pointed out the issue with the tiles that our installer had made the mistake on! Overall I would recommend this over door canopy.

Not very thorough

Requested they look into if I had a discretionary commission arrangement for the finance on my car purchased in 2004. They came back to me after a few months of email updates to say they could no longer pursue this on my behalf as I hadn’t provided a financial agreement number (I did at the very beginning) and that I had no arrangement that they could find. I emailed back to provide again the agreement number but they ignored my emails! The finance company that handled the agreement originally have since got back to me to say that I did have a discretionary commission arrangement with them. Slater & Gordon wasted my time basically.

Astonishing in this day and age

This company exemplifies service. Great prices, helpful advice, super fast despatch. They really could teach an awful lot of corporations how to operate. I made one order a while back and have since been going back to them for my requirements because there’s no one out there who does as great a job as Truly PVC. Hoping feedback like this gives them encouragement too!

First time using Wowcher…oh dear!

Found Wowcher that seemed to stock a Canary palm that were looking for. Registration was fairly straightforward but downhill after that! It isn’t an intuitive website and I had no idea you pay for a voucher to then use for a purchase! Paid for a voucher and delivery but when nothing arrived within the stated few days so I had to start digging around the website to find out what was going on with the order. Nowhere obvious to contact customer service (red flag in my book!) but found how to contact via WhatsApp and to cut a long story short, they credited my ‘Wowcher wallet’ with the purchase price but not the delivery costs?? I requested delivery refund even though they said they had ‘refunded in full’. The comms via WhatsApp is clunky. I attempted to re-purchase the palm tree with the same results. Have no idea if this means another £59.99 and £9.99 will leave my account. Confusing enough thus far so I have requested a proper full refund of £59.99 and £9.99 to my bank account. Will see what happens and update here with an increase in stars should they prove to be forgiving of me! Sorry Wowcher for any inconvenience from a novice user!

Please use the below, and this will guide you to complete the delivery;
Wowcher sells vouchers that can be exchanged with the merchant for a product or service. Once the deal closes customers receive their Wowcher via email (your Wowchers can also be accessed in your Wowcher account under the “My Account” section).
To use your Wowcher simply follow the steps below:
1. Log into your account (www.Wowcher.co.uk/login).
2. Click on "My Account" in the top right hand corner of the screen.
3. Once in your account you will see your purchased Wowcher(s).
4. Next to each Wowcher is a “View” button which can be used to open the Wowcher.
5. Specific redemption instructions are shown on each Wowcher under the heading HOW TO REDEEM. Please be aware the Wowcher code is case sensitive and needs to be entered exactly as it appears.
6. You need to redeem your Wowcher if you have not already done so and enter your delivery details to receive delivery of your order. You must do this before the expiry date printed on your Wowcher.

They charge £10 to pay back any credit due to you!

Other than the billing issues I had with them and the draining of data after the ‘top up’ was used and then topping up with £30 (the usual £10 per month wasn’t enough all of a sudden) and finding that was only just enough after I decided to leave them, they charge you £10 to pay back any credit! So, daylight robbery anyone?!! Richard Turpin would’ve been proud of them.

Danny Heathcote did a fantastic job measuring up for our vinyl shutters and also mentioned the option of having them flush with the window recess. Great idea! Came back and fitted them all no fuss and no mess at all. It’s a pity it is a ‘do job and leave’ mission as Danny is a credit to the company and would readily have him do all sorts of jobs on
the house!

Poor administration

Very poor service when it comes to administration of the Great British Insulation Scheme. I applied and found after 2 months that nothing had been done with my application. After a few months of chasing for updates I was told our property wasn’t eligible despite it falling within the eligibility criteria! After querying this they reinstated the application. After several weeks I requested an update. Silence. Chased again to be told a surveyor would be allocated. After several weeks a surveyor came. After several weeks I requested an update. Silence. Then an email arrived to say an installer has been appointed. After a couple of weeks or so another email to say that installer had pulled the plug on a few applications including ours and another one would need to be found. When I asked if selling the house (not related to Octopus I have to say!) would affect the application they said no. I’ve since found out from the new owners that the application has been closed as it cannot continue with the new owners until they have resided at the property for 3 months (Nothing to do with Octopus but the criteria of the scheme). Basically, nothing happened much and certainly no loft insulation during our 15 month ownership of the property.

Overall an excellent service

A very good service from this company starting with the video survey and ending with the collection of empty boxes at the end of our moving house journey. The quote was good. The comms with Patrick and Julian was always excellent too. We chose the packing service as this removes quite a bit of stress from house moving! Although a bottle of Armani aftershave worth about £65 went missing (even though the loose plastic base from the bottle got packed?!) we were compensated without question.

Upon our return in the New Year, we thoroughly investigated the matter. Our best guess is that the aftershave may have been accidentally left in the wrapping paper during unpacking.

As a gesture of goodwill and to make up for the inconvenience caused, we have refunded the £65.
