Not a local business
Not a fan of the M J Harris business model.
If you search online for a local engineer, their website comes up, representing itself as a local business (in our case 'Wells and the surrounding area'. It's really not. You end up speaking to a call centre, and it is only after questioning that you realise this is not a local business, but actually based in S Wales.
Then they take £42 by phone just for the call, and of course I could have declined and stopped just there.
Maybe I should have done, but I was very pressed for time.
The engineer was indeed fairly local, and timely and polite, but the pricing was very steep for the work done, and was presented as a nice round figure without any explanation of labour charge, call-out charge or parts.
Overall, won't be calling M J Harris again.

Our £42.00 call out charge covers the engineers travel, to carry out a visual inspection and to provide a quotation.
We are a family run business employing all 15 of our engineers as well as a small office team. Our engineers live local to their area covering a 10-15 mile radius which enables us to advertise as local.
We are sorry that you found the charges steep however this is what we need to charge to be able to operate, our prices are in guidance with our competitors who are of a similar size.
