CAREEM HALA RUDE + UN SAFE + OVERCHARGES
Recently used Careem Hala for a ride from Sports City to Barsha Heights at 1 AM.
The estimated fare was between AED 32 and AED 40 maximum, which is reasonable compared to the usual RTA taxi fare of around AED 27.
However, things quickly went downhill.
The driver took a wrong turn and ended up driving me to Mall of the Emirates instead.
When I questioned him, he acknowledged the mistake and then he abruptly ended the ride when the fare reached AED 45, and i was not in a trip anymore although i was far away from my destination and still in the middle of the highway !!!!!!!!!!!
without using the trip meter or tracking of the rest of the ride, This felt incredibly unsafe, as I was left without tracking should anything have gone wrong !!!!!!!!!!
Upon reaching my destination, I confronted the driver about the fare discrepancy, and he responded with a dismissive laugh on me, then grabbed AED 5 back while MOCKING AND LAUGHING on my concerns.
I left the money in the console and informed him I would escalate the issue with Careem “thinking they will do better treatment and fix his mistake”
Since then, I've tried reaching Careem customer support for two days and speaking with their “ SUPERVISOR “,
My card was charged AED 48 for a trip that should have cost around AED 32 they didnt do anything about, and they said this is the charge and deal with it !!!!!!!!!!!!
This experience not only cost me more than I expected but also left me feeling unsafe and undervalued as a customer.
IF ANY ONE WANTS TO USE THIS SERVICE EXPECT :
1/ PAYING DOUBLE OF THE NORMAL CHARGES
2/AND EXPECT NO ONE WILL CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR OWN SAFETY !
Their logo should be
BE CAUTIOUS , PAY MORE , AND EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE NOTHING.
Would you still use careem ??????
