Wuben G5 Light: A Cautionary Tale
I recently received a Wuben G5 light (G538711923) as a gift from a friend in another state. The light arrived on May 5, 2025, and right out of the box, a critical safety feature—the lockout mode—was not functional. This means the light could accidentally turn on, which is a significant concern.
I've attempted to resolve this issue through Wuben's customer service, emailing them over six times for a warranty replacement. Their response time has been consistently slow, often taking several days to reply to my messages.
Shipping Blunder and Lack of Resolution
On May 24, I was finally informed that a replacement light was being shipped. However, to my dismay, the light was sent to my friend, not to me. I immediately notified Wuben of the shipping error. Two days later, on May 26, they responded that it was "too late" to change the destination.
This was clearly Wuben's mistake, and it could have been easily rectified with a more prompt customer service response. Now, my friend will incur the additional expense and inconvenience of mailing the replacement light to me. This entire experience has left me without a working light and with a strong feeling of dissatisfaction. As a result, I will not be purchasing from Wuben again.
