Slipping in a Termination Fee

No sooner had I signed up to renew the contract for another 12 months with Energia, and within days the unit rates were increased which they stayed silent about. I then switched to Electric Ireland within the 14 day cooling off period, yet I was charged a €50 termination fee. Apparently Energia and another provider are notorious for slipping this in in the hope the customer won't spot it.
