How many companies are needed to rent a property?

The house we rented was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. However, to rent thriugh Belvilla, then to have another company to manage the rental ( including to collect the deposit), then yet another company to handle check in and check out was cumbersome. I may hesitate to rent from Belvilla again. In addition, the few instructions provided were in Dutch—in Wallonie! I was able to translate the Dutch enough to see that we would be charged for every little issue ( fir example 10Euro if the toaster wasn’t cleaned) but this was never explained in English or French , the two languages I speak. The checkin and checkout company seemed to know very little about the property. If there had been a problem with anything we were to contact the “middle man” company.
