Bad experience
Hello! I had a translation experience where they would pay me £2,100 for my work but they told me that I had to pay insurance of £100 to be able to receive my money and that they would then refund it to my payment. But at first no one informed me about this payment, I killed myself writing a book day and night and now they tell me that? When I finished the work they made me send it to an email and they wrote me the following:
“With absolute concern we want to drag your attention on a little hiccup that is necessary and very important to the two parties,
Has an employee who has worked effortlessly on the project assigned to you, you are expected to sign and pay a refundable insurance fee of £100, which will be credited back to you with your initial salary, making it £2,100.
It is very important to insure our alliance together and seal all term and conditions with a signed document. Meanwhile, a new project has been awarded to you with a reasonable and bigger salary, after this whole process is completed, kindly contact your project director for the new project details.
We hope you don’t see this as an endeavor but a reassurance of our extended collaboration together.
Meanwhile kindly submit any valid ID, to the payment manager for verification and sign the insurance form to insure our alliance and collaboration together for legal measures.“
and everything had to be done by telegram…
Very unfortunate.
I would love to be able to receive my money for the time and work it took me to do it.
