I've been a user of Bilt for quite some time, initially, it was a fantastic, Everything was conveniently linked to a single card, making it easy to manage my rental payments along with other bills and insurance. The process was seamless and automatic, which was a major selling point for me.
However, Bilt has recently changed its policy, and now the entire experience is a hassle. Instead of the previous automated setup, I now have to log in to Bilt about a week before my payment is due, create a Bill Pay, and only then will my rental payment go through.
The most frustrating part is that there is no way to set up automatic payments. Once a Bill Pay is created, it only stays active for 5 days. If I miss that window or forget to log in, my payment won't go through. This is especially concerning if I'm on vacation or dealing with a busy schedule.
The added stress of having to manually log in every month to create a Bill Pay is a huge inconvenience. If I don't authorize the payment in time, there's a risk of the transaction being declined, which could lead to late fees from my bank or the payment processing platform.
On top of that, their customer service is a nightmare. They don’t provide a phone number for support, and you’re left with only chat or email options. The chat is painfully slow, with every response taking 2–3 minutes. This makes it incredibly difficult to resolve any issues quickly.
What was once a simple, automated process has become unnecessarily complicated. It feels like a step backward, and the risk of missed payments is something I’d rather not deal with.
