I think this site is a rip off

I think this site is a rip off , i have spent 25 years as a joiner and never come across anything ike this, first of all nobody should have to pay to do any work , the only way i would agree to this would be if i got the job and be the only one shortlisted .secondly most of the phone numbers are fake. having had my experience as a joiner i thought i would try my builder as i am semi retired now just to see how it goes to charge a smaller fee to help people out i have no reviews because i refuse to pay to do work.

thirdly when i did get a contact people were haggling over the price

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the fee system used by our platform. MyBuilder has tried a number of charging models, and we strongly feel that our current system offers the best experience for our trade customers.

Rather than charging a high annual subscription or monthly charges, we charge a lower amount when contact details are exchanged between you and a customer. You are into total control of the leads to which you reply, and as the homeowner is then able to choose who to contact following your expression of interest - our contact rates are higher as the leads are much warmer. There are no minimum charges, and you are free to express interest in as many or as few leads as you wish.

Should you experience a problem contacting a customer our billing and fees team are on hand to discuss the fee. You can contact them at info@mybuilder.com if you have any specific fees you would like us to review.

As much as we wish it were possible to offer MyBuilder for free to tradespeople, there are significant running costs involved in offering our service, we aim to keep the cost to our trade customers as low as possible, and we believe we offer great value for money for your marketing costs.

We are always trying to improve our service, and regularly test ways to do so based upon feedback from our community. If you have any specific feedback, please let us know via email and we'll be happy to share your insights with the relevant department.
