Pre-order was OK, been there so often that everything was clear.

Have used HRS for years.
Very hard to say what has become better from any earlier.
Today I tried two other service providers: came back promptly.

Had roughly calculated the number of kilometers we will collect today.a
Then I hit the map and touched the Nouvel Hotel in Portes les Valence.
Placed a reservation and was excited until I saw the hotel the next day: a small hotel with English speaking people in reception.

If you keep asking questions like this, I have to reconcider my decision to use HRS for years by now ;-)
It simply works.
