Mixed experience — Ru was excellent, but overall value and organisation need improvement

Our Iceland trip with Plotpackers had some memorable moments, and I’d like to start by thanking Ru, who was truly fantastic throughout friendly, organised, and always willing to help. His effort and positive attitude made a big difference to our experience.

However, there were several areas where the trip fell short of expectations given the cost (around £999). The accommodation was below the standard we anticipated small rooms and limited comfort and the tour organisation was inconsistent. For example, what we were told would be a private tour ended up being shared with other groups, which was disappointing and felt misleading.

The itinerary felt rushed, with only 3–4 days to cover a lot of activities, and at times it felt like more could have been done to ensure better pacing and value for money. Considering Iceland’s expense, I understand costs are high, but transparency about what’s included and the standard of accommodation and tours would help manage expectations.

Overall, Ru deserves recognition for his excellent support and care during the trip, he genuinely tried to make things right. But the company needs to improve communication, trip planning, and value for money to make future experiences live up to their promises

I’m sorry to hear that some parts of the trip didn’t meet your expectations. The trip you joined is different from our budget option and includes twin-room accommodation, as stated when booking. As you mentioned, Iceland is a particularly expensive destination, and we always do our best to provide the best value possible while keeping the trip accessible.

I do understand your comments about feeling rushed as this is one of our shorter trips. Because of Iceland’s higher costs, we design the itinerary to include as many key highlights and experiences as possible within a short amount of time. All activities were included as described, and while we prioritise reducing our emissions as much as possible, some tours are shared rather than private, especially for smaller groups like yours. That said, we always try to strike the right balance between customer experience, sustainability, and affordability, and some of your experiences were private for this reason.

Love the gym but the staff at the…

Love the gym but the staff at the fitness food area could be a bit more friendlier.

Jess in particular looks like she didn’t want to be at work. No smile no way of talking to customers! Considering customers pay so much for this gym it would be good to have staff that are a bit more friendlier!

I just left Pandora Canary Wharf quite…

I just left Pandora Canary Wharf quite appalled by the assistant manager behaviour towards customers, no smile no customer service, quite rude. It’s clear there’s a queue system, but the staff would pick choose who they would like to give service to first ignoring the fact you are waiting in a queue. If I’m purchasing something from any store I would expect some level of respect! It felt like the manager didn’t want to be at work!
