Wanted to buy a rabbit.

Wanted to buy a rabbit. Had rabbits before. We have a suitable huge cage. But the Burton Upon Trent store would not take our word that we had a cage large enough for one rabbit and insisted we needed to show them a photo as proof, before we could even buy the rabbit!!! The woman kept going on about that they had to get a photo off us as proof to satisfy RSPCA rules, blah blah. So we went away annoyed! I refused to make a special journey just to take a damn picture for this rude woman! In my honest opinion if a store cannot trust us to have a cage big enough then we do not buy from them! In all honesty I felt like they were trying to sell me one of their cages, which were actually smaller than the one we have!

Anyway to cut a long story short.
The following day we went to our local garden centre(Bretby garden centre) who also sell alot of pets, alot more than Pets at home to be honest! Luck had it that they had a young rabbit there that was perfect. No problems at all! We didn`t get 101 questions or asked to provide proof that we own a rabbit cage! They gave us some tips and they were so much nicer about the whole thing! The fact is this little cute bunny is now a house bunny, he is litter trained and he loves stretching his legs in our living room! He even gets along with our 3 cats great! Unfortunately for the Burton store I will not be using them ever again, not for pets or pet food or any consumables! They made the whole experience of buying from them a big hassle!

Omega 3 Fish fingers are rubbish

Omega 3 Fish fingers are rubbish! They have gone downhill really badly over the years! I now buy Tesco fish fingers, half the price and actually taste loads better, like they actually contain fish!!!

This company used to be very good but…

This company used to be very good but more recently they seem to have gone downhill rapidly when it comes to waiting on products to be delivered. 3 weeks+ to get an oil catch can for my car from Damond Motorsports in USA! Come on guys, I could have actually got the part faster ordering directly from Damond myself!! These long wait times are a bit pathetic and the sort of thing I would expect in the medieval times when we were using just horse and cart! You need to come up with a better supplier for your overseas shipments OR keep more parts in stock regularly! You can make up all the excuses under the sun, but at the end of the day your poor logistics will make customers go elsewhere.

Update: 07/05/2025..
Order has been in a state of processing since the 4/4/2025. Still no further progress on the order! So far I have waited over a month for an oil catch can when I was initially advised it would be 3 weeks! I sent them an email 2 days ago asking for an update on the order, no one can be bothered to reply to me about the order!

What is the point in paying for 48hr or…

What is the point in paying for 48hr or 24hr when they don`t even keep to it??? DPD deliver fast, Amazon deliver fast, even Fedex deliver faster than Royal mail. WTF is wrong with them? They have rubbish tracking that makes no sense at all and their customer service is an annoying online chat robot that just keeps sending you back to the tracking history that says oh its 'in transit'.. which means it could be on the way to the recipient OR it could be on the way to another royal mail depot, I mean WTF help is that to anyone???! Unfortunately I can`t give them 0 star rating!

We have been through 20 PowerA controllers in 3 years!

We have a family of 4, the amount of PowerA controllers we have gone through in three years because of analog sticks developing faults, broken buttons or crazily over sensitive buttons or the wire to the crappy usb-c connector starts to lose connection randomly is ridiculous! They are total garbage! You can tell they are cheaply made Chinese garbage! I have never had such bad luck with a controller before! Controllers have been around since the Amstrad(it's very old tech now), YET for some reason PowerA seem to have the knack of making one that breaks if you even breathe on it in the wrong direction!!! Unfortunately we don`t seem to have any alternative on the PC, so have to keep replacing them every 3 months!

Ripping off company

Ripping off company. Stay well away! I know a guy that used to work for Halfords Auto centres and he tells me that they are one of the most unhelpful garages you can take your vehicle to! They try a lot of under handed tactics to make you pay more for your car repairs and they are very untrustworthy! They like to prey on people who are not very knowledgeable when it comes to cars and rip them off for unnecessary jobs that really do not need doing!

They did an ok job of my kitchen…

They did an ok job of my kitchen renovation on behalf of Trent and Dove. Some of the workers were very professional and friendly. Others seemed to be pretty disorganised and half finished jobs. A few things had to be altered afterwards when they had finished the project due to mistakes. For some reason they cannot fit taps properly and my kitchen taps now turn the opposite direction to the rest of the taps in my house!.. I was given excuses that the specific brand of tap that Trent and Dove had ordered worked this way, but I read elsewhere any tap can have it's on/off direction adjusted. So they basically fitted the taps the wrong way and couldn`t be bothered to rectify it. It is very annoying but I have to live with it now!

Best MOT garage in Burton!


Kev at the Burton centre was really helpful and gave me a lot of good advice! The guy certainly knows his stuff! Very very good price for the MOT, only £29.99! I really like this MOT station because they are there to help you out and not rip you off. The mechanic who tested my car gave me really handy advice on how to resolve my advisories. Not many MOT stations take the time to talk to you and help you in this way!

Tyres could have been cheaper. Quite a lot of money for a mid range Tyre. But oh well!

Great service from ATS Euromaster who visited my property and fitted the tyres in record time!

Parcel force are a joke

Parcel force are a joke! They couldn`t even find where I live... even though all of the other couriers have no issue at all! I called them up and they told me they could re-deliver the next day(after i told them how to find my property), I agreed to this. Minutes later I receive an update on my tracking saying they have dumped it in a post office over 2 miles from where I live!!!... Bare in mind it is a very very heavy delivery and I have no car at the moment.. because these are parts for my car!... They are an absolute joke, a bunch of fools! So now I have got to find transport to get to the post office, costing me and wasting my time.. when they could have just delivered it to my property the following day! I am really annoyed with them.

Rip off company

Rip off company. They make estimations on energy usage that are seriously over inflated. Most expensive energy company I have ever been with! Poor customer service. Constantly trying to increase my monthly costs. Myself and wife live in a 2 bedroom with two toddlers. They wanted us at one point to pay £650 per month for our electricity and Gas.. you have got to be kidding!??

Stay well away from the Burton Auto…

Stay well away from the Burton Auto centre. Absolute joke. I had to return for a retest because there was a small hole in one of the rear lower control arms and a bit of exhaust blowing at the rear on one of the joiners. I turned up 3 days later with the issues rectified and the guy at the desk was like.. uh.. I tried to call you mate(obviously wrong number), our emissions test machine has broken. I was obviously really annoyed because it had cost me fuel to drive to the test centre and then I suggested to him that if their emissions machine is faulty then maybe my slightly high lambda reading was due to the machine, as my emissions had passed fine on CO and HC. He said no no, if i remember correctly it failed emissions because you don`t have a centre box.. Then I tried to explain to him that silencers and centre boxes are nothing to do with emissions. Catalytic converters are responsible for emission control, silencers simply reduce the noise from the engines combustion process. I had to really question whether he should be working there at this point... I also explained that the car never had a centre box from the day I purchased it and this has never been brought up at previous MOT's that I have had before, the car has two exits at the rear of the car, so instead has a silencer on each exit. His final remark was, uh.. we don`t make the rules mate, sorry. I really wasn`t filled with confidence after my angry conversation with him and thought to myself that this guy should not be working for a company that is supposed to be a specialist when it comes to car maintenance. I can understand that they tried to call and it wasn`t his fault that he couldn`t get through.. but they also have a Halfords system you can access that you can use to see your upcoming appointments and he had not updated this at all! Just really annoyed with the whole situation and the guy at the help desk was not helpful at all. Terrible customer service.

We went back the 3rd time for the partial retest. Should have been 15 mins, instead someone cocked up again and we were double booked. So we had to wait 2 hours. When they finally got the car on the 4 post lift they suddenly found another issue with the tyres that was not picked up the first time the tyres were inspected. Cord showing which was of course a failure. I was furious, because this information was not put on the failure sheet(the info om the sheet just said worn tyres and it was in the advisory section), therefore we had no chance of fixing the issue before the retest! Again i had an argument with the guy and he just threw me a load of bullcrap. I really dont even know why they even had to inspect the tyres a second time... the retest was for a brake test and emissions! Its like they were looking for issues with the tyres so that they could sell me new tyres, even though the tread was still within the legal limits!

To cut a long story short myself and wife just decided to leave and go somewhere else. The place has left a really bitter taste in my mouth and i will never be returning to a Halfords auto centre again. They wasted so much of our time and the whole thing took that much time its now left us with a stranded car because its MOT date has expired.

And Rupert, if you really want to help me I would really appreciate a full refund for an MOT test that was never completed and my time + fuel wasted.

Hideous prices

Hideous prices. They are obviously just taking advantage of parents! £18 for one large photo! Is it large.. really? Does it really cost £18 to print a photo????? And to take the pee even more they want £22 for a single image file. £22 for ONE file that is probably about 4mb in size! Daylight robbery! This company needs shutting down! I would feel ashamed working for them!
