Review of ProperKey

Avoid at all costs

Estate agents like Properkey epitomise why estate agents around the globe have an awful reputation. This review is based on facts and facts only. For your own safety, and to avoid big financial losses like I incurred - stick with the well-known high street brands. My dealings with Properkey, over the course of 3-months and trying to purchase 136A Heath Road became a living nightmare. I was forced to pull out of the process because of their complete and utter ignorance, shocking customer service, lack of respect, false promises and inability to provide updates, I would literally be ghosted by them for weeks. I am still baffled why I was treated like this by them and think that maybe the value of the purchase didn’t provide them with enough commission for it to be worth their time and effort. I would send up to 8 messages at times and not get a single response. I would also attempt calling all Properkey offices over several weeks to not get a single answer too. A very very very strange setup to say the least and I have all the screenshots to prove it. Estate Agents should not be able to get away with behavior like this and I strongly advise all buyers and sellers to avoid these guys like the plague.

After having an offer accepted by the seller, Properkey said they would only stop advertising the property if I could prove I’d paid for my search fees. I did this, and would go on to pay thousands more in legal fees to push the purchase through. However, months later when we should have been exchanging, they could still not get legal signatures from freeholders (despite telling me over the phone he would get this). On the rare occasions when I would get a false update, this was always over a call - to ensure there was no paper trail on his fake promises to hold him accountable. My partner and I almost became homeless as we lost our rental home after being told by them that we’d exchange soon after my mortgage offer. After over 3-months from having an offer accepted, having a mortgage offer and completing all my searches, we were forced to withdraw to avoid living on the streets. I have never worked with such an untrustworthy person and company in my entire life.

To make matters worse and to prove Properkey’s shady and unethical ways of working, I also noticed on Trust Pilot that their employee had left a fake review, giving a glowing review of Properkey despite him working for the company and being the person that did my viewing on 136A Heath Road. I have screen shots of this review.

To everyone that reads this review, please avoid avoid avoid.
