Terrible instructions provided

The instructions given with thermostats and receivers are not fit for purpose. The pairing process does not work if following what is written in the “quick guide”. Nb. There are no complete instructions available anywhere; the “quick guide” is it.

No consideration for disabled customers

I bought a fridge freezer. The metal pipes of the fridge had what looks like polyethylene wrapped around them. I wasn’t sure if this was insulation to improve fridge energy efficiency or packaging to be removed (to avoid a fire risk). I have an impairment that means I cannot use a traditional phone. I tried using the web chat; all they could tell me was to phone the helpline. I tried calling via text relay and was told over and over again that the particular department I had called could not help me and I had to try other numbers, some of which did not seem to be a correct number (so the line just went dead). On one occasion the department I was told to select in the end gave me menu options that did not apply. Other times the selection menu went too quickly for text relay and the helpline just hung up. I then had to ask web service for different numbers. Repeatedly.

My question is very simple and I can see from a Google search that many people have this same question. I regret buying from curry’s; if I had bought a different brand I could ask the brand company, but my fridge is a curry’s exclusive brand. I am now wondering whether to return it since I don’t know whether leaving this material on the fridge will cause a fire hazard or if taking it off will reduce the efficiency of my fridge.

No interest in customer’s experience

Services are often cancelled with no notice, takes hours to get through to customer service, boilers do not work when it is cold since the condensate pipes are placed outside and freeze and no safe solution is offered when this issue continually comes up. They could fit a frost protection trace to eliminate this problem but they refuse to do so, instead they expect you to spend several hours taking upwards of thirty trips out onto the ice holding partially boiled kettles of water out to thaw the pipe, on every snowy/icy day through winter - unsafe and this does not meet the British standards. If you want heating when it’s actually cold you need a company that will fit frost protection where it is necessary.

Ineffective, unethical

The format didn’t work for me - all emails /content you need to read through. If you’re procrastinating because you have huge amounts of reading to do, this product is not for you. There is no audiovisual content or app to use. I was disappointed that I did not find the content helpful but wasn’t too annoyed by this until a year after purchase they charged me again without notifying me that they were going to. Apparently I was still subscribed - it is an automatically renewing subscription. It is highly unethical to charge customers (especially the ones who you can see are no longer engaging with your product) again with no forewarning. They refused to refund this when queried.

Ineffective product at best and extremely unethical at worse.
