Unclear Charges After Care Plan Cancellation Request
At first, I contacted them because my washing machine broke down, and it had just passed the warranty period. At that time, the quote was £80 for a one-off repair, or £19.90 per month for a care plan. After joining the care plan, there is a 14-day cooling-off period during which you can cancel, but if someone comes to carry out a repair within this period, you need to pay back the one-off repair fee.
I joined the care plan on Tuesday, and on Thursday they arranged for someone to repair it. On Friday, when I called to ask about cancelling within the cooling-off period and paying back the one-off fee, I was told that the one-off repair fee had become £160. The customer service representative I spoke with could not make it clear whether this charge was for cancelling the care plan or for the one-off repair itself.
I sent a complaint email last Friday, but as of today, I still haven’t received a reply.
