Review of Alien Gear Holsters

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Decent Product, But Transparency Needs Improvement!

** Update
I contacted Alien Gear after waiting a week of business days since my order was placed and still no update, and was informed it was a 4 month waiting period and thus told them to just cancel my order. They mention nothing about this other than the holsters are "made to order"... I also read some of the reviews from their physical location on Google Maps and they state you can go into the store and have your holster made the same day! This sucks for us who live farther away from their retail location, as we not only have to wait for the people who ordered ahead of us to get their stuff, but we also have to wait for people going in the same day and skipping the line - this defeats the whole purpose of ordering and having a made to order wait time in my opinion. This is sad to see for a company that is all American Made, but I will have to give my business elsewhere, to a company that actually stocks their products like Safariland, even if it means the product is assembled in Mexico... I was trying to do the right thing and help other Americans out, but that wait time and walk in system they have going on is absurd to say the least. **

I saw many positive reviews of the company’s products, so I decided to buy their new LVL 3 Rapid Force Duty holster. I chose the matte black option from their available colors and configurations. Later, I discovered that the tan version is IR neutral, a detail not mentioned on the product page but found in their blog. This feature is important for some military and law enforcement units and should be highlighted.

I contacted the company and received a prompt response, but they informed me that I couldn't simply swap the color without canceling and reordering. They acknowledged the missing IR neutral information and promised to forward it to their IT team. It's frustrating to have to search extensively for such crucial details, especially when competitors like Safariland clearly state this information.

Additionally, the cart shows a "10,000 day repair period," which is actually a placeholder. The real warranty is three years, buried on their website.

Overall, my experience was okay, but the company should be more transparent with product information to make ordering easier, especially for agencies. Despite this, I trust the quality of the holster based on reviews and testing I've seen, and I will evaluate it myself once it arrives.

Review of Crutchfield

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nothing gets by the customer service team!

I purchased a head unit to be installed in my car, along with the wiring harness, and accessories needed for it to be installed (or so I thought). A few hours went by after I placed my order and I received a phone call from Crutchfield to inform me the parts I had ordered were not compatible with each other, and asked if I wanted to change my order or if they wanted to email me the correct parts. I cancelled the items I didn't need from the order and ordered the necessary parts.

I understand this may seem small, but this is something not a whole lot of companies are doing these days, and that level of attention to detail and hands on nature has to be admired. I will be a customer for life and will recommend you guys to whomever needs parts or anything you guys sell! Thanks for being awesome.

Review of Incogni

Most private PII removal service currently out!

I was introduced to this company by their parent company SurfShark as I was a customer who used their VPN in the past. I like Incogni because unlike some of their commercialized competitors they ask for just the necessary information, and no more to fulfill these requests to have your data removed. Another company I tried in the past who is more commercialized required a photo copy of your ID and still had a weird Privacy Policy stating they can share, not sell your data, with their parent company. This is something neither Incogni, or SurfShark do and this is why I chose them going forward for my PII removal service.

Really receptive to issues and fixes them quickly

I recently purchased a Crucial MX500 SSD to upgrade an older HP laptop I own that still had a spinning disk. I was able to purchase one from my local BestBuy and brought it home to clone the drive. Everything worked as planned and even better, it increased the speed of the machine overall and shortened boot times dramatically for Windows 10 Pro.

I started running into issues when I finally got into Windows and started customizing. I did some digging and found Crucial has their own app for updating their SSDs and monitoring the overall health, so I installed that and it informed me I had an old firmware on the drive and should update it. I followed the prompts within the app and it kept failing. After reinstalling the app and everything I finally contacted support, who told me to follow those same steps and some additional for gathering debug data. After nothing seemed to work and I was beginning to give up on the update I got another email from the support team. One of their reps wrote me to state how they were sorry for that happening and how they would like to receive the drive so their engineers could analyze it and possibly fix the bug for the edge cases where the drives do not update. He also told me they would provide a drive to transfer my data onto and use as a replacement ahead of time and provide a return label for the other. In addition to this kind gesture without any form of receipt or anything needed, they also gave me the option of another MX500 500GB, a 500GB external, or 15% off from their store - I took the additional MX500 because why not for the extra troubles of having to reopen the laptop.

Overall I was hesitant to reach out and discuss with them, as many support teams try to place the blame on the end user (even when it truly is not the users fault). After discussing with them I am glad I did and I couldn't recommend them more now as they are a truly customer oriented, American company.

Hopefully the replacement works flawlessly and this is just an edge case scenario as they told me, but I will update this review with any info as needed down the road.

Review of WD

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

To WD: You should be shamed of yourselves for betraying thousands of loyal customers

I had recommended a client to purchase a WD MyCloud device last year, prior to WD announcing the end of life for this product. This means that the product will no longer receive vital security patches or updates, and they will no longer offer support for these particular products... My client even purchased this item directly from WD on Amazon, AND if you read their Privacy Policy you can easily tell that they collect mandatory telemetry data such as the users IP addresses, usage of CPU, memory and ram, and more are all constantly being sent in the background so they can most likely share or sell this data with their partners.

I will be advising all future customers to buy Synology systems regardless of their budget as is an inexcusable type of behavior from a company that built a pretty good rep on creating and maintaining trustworthy storage through Sandisk and other adventures. It's a shame it has to come to this... It doesn't cost this company very much to maintain development teams for these things so it's frustrating to see them shut down a whole class of users simply because they wish to.

Maybe I will instruct my client to copy their data byte by byte to other hard drives that actually care about their end users, and install them in a Synology system, which won't betray the end user after hundreds of dollars spent.

SPAMMERS

Update: This company is still to this day sending me emails despite attempting to have this review taken down. They have however added an Unsubscribe button to the bottom, I assume only to avoid possible fines but this is too late. I used their website to "unsubscribe from their affiliates" marketing and will update this again if I still continue to receive Spam from this company after numerous attempts to have them cease all communications with me and my client(s).

This company has sent my client 6 different emails, even after emailing them telling them to stop, and blocking the previous emails (they change the email each time they send me one)... They claim to "boost your Instagram" when my client simply does not want or need their subpar services. I suppose that's why they opt to spam people, to keep themselves afloat, but this is a true disgrace to humanity of a company (if you'd even call this a company). I have since contacted Google Cloud services, and AWS, where they are hosting these alternative domains being used to spam people... Hopefully Google and Amazon don't just want their monthly dues more than they care about the safety/sanity of their customers and peers.

Edit: This review has been verified because they tried to get it removed... However Trustpilot is for the consumer and doesn't allow this once they verify the substance of the review to be true. That tells you all you need to know about this company and their shady practices, but they can't hide the truth here.
