Chris the driver went the extra mile

Chris the driver was excellent. There was an issue with access due to weather, but he rang and we sorted it out. Excellent service to ensure I got the delivery my business needed.

Grading and service have declined

I’ve bought over 6,000 records from Omega Auctions across many years, spending more than £70,000 in total. For most of that time grading was accurate and I trusted their descriptions.

Lately, however, standards have slipped badly. Records described as Ex+ or “Archive” have arrived badly scratched, VG at best, and a Beatles box set described as a 1978 original turned out to be a 1987 re-release.

When I raised concerns straight after an auction, their stance was simply that it was “too late” and nothing would be done. Their suggestion for the future was "My best advice in light of this would be to come and view before bidding" That isn’t very helpful if your miles away and most of their bidding is online. Certainly not what I’d expect from an auction house that wants long-term buyers to bid online with confidence.

After years of loyalty, it’s disappointing to see accuracy and customer care go downhill. I won't be buying from them again,.

As a business selling on behalf of third-party vendors, we operate within specific timeframes. We typically make payment to our vendors four weeks after the sale, which limits our ability to offer refunds or returns beyond that point, unless the issue relates to authenticity. Our terms state that we can accept returns or offer refunds where there is a material misdescription and the item is returned within two weeks of purchase. This ensures we have time to resolve any concerns before paying the vendor.

In this case, the items in question were purchased at our auction on June 4th, 2025, and you contacted us on July 5th, outside the usual return period. Despite this, and in recognition of your longstanding custom, we still took the matter seriously. Two of our vinyl specialists reviewed the records independently and found no material misdescription, though we acknowledged that one of the eight records could have been more accurately graded as VG rather than VG+.

Even though we didn’t fully agree with your assessment, we chose to refund both lots in full as a gesture of goodwill.

We also advised that, given differing expectations around condition, it may be best to view items in person ahead of future auctions, particularly as you regularly attend to collect your purchases in person.

Regarding the more recent email you sent about a box set purchased 8 months ago, we’re sorry we couldn’t assist due to the time that has passed, but we have passed your feedback to the vinyl team as we are consistently trying to ensure that our descriptions are of the highest, most accurate standard.

We are truly sorry that you feel let down by our service. Our team is passionate about what we do and works hard to deliver the best possible experience for both buyers and sellers. We appreciate your feedback and wish you all the best.

Account opening, verification and payout

Opened account yesterday. Unlike other companies, they did their verification before letting me play which is as it should be. Had to upload my driving licence and do a video to prove it was me! Then deposited £2k via PayPal. Played for an hour on their live casino and won £9k. Withdrew it back to my PayPal account. Was expecting the usual issues where they then want about a million docs and your inside leg measurement but no. Took 8 hours to process but was overnight, so no problem. I wish more companies would do their verification before letting you play as they seem to forget that getting paid is kind of a big deal. 10/10 for these guys.

Great reliable service…

No need to go to the doctors or chemists. Medication always sent promptly. Very helpful reminder when you need to re-order repeat prescription. Takes all the stress out of it.
