Disgraceful sharing of private information

On the 12th May I bought a Samsung Tab A8 from Currys in Dunfermline, and was so disgusted with the way the purchase was handled I wrote a review here about the experience, which was a first for me.
The same day I got a reply from their Customer (dis)Service, from a Carrie, full of promises to look into the matter for me. I did as she asked, replying to her, including the review etc. but no real surprise, I have heard nothing since then, almost a month on. It seems a reasonable assumption that the reply I got to my TrustPilot review is just a standard reply, and no action is taken, or feedback provided as a result, so why bother?
And now, to add insult to injury I find they have given (or sold?) my details to Reevoo, and I never authorised Currys to pass my details on the any third party. This is a disgraceful breach of confidentiality as a transaction between me and a vendor should remain the business of those 2 parties only. I will be formally requesting that Curry's remove all of my details from their system as a matter of extreme urgency.
Guess we'll see what happens, or maybe not if their Customer Service is as obstructive as usual.

In-Store Staff - good, Customer Support - A Disgrace

I'd like to give the in-store staff (Dunfermline branch) a good rating, but the Customer Support team about minus 10.
I bought a tablet that wasn't in stock but was told it would be in-store the next day and I would eceive and email and/or a phone call to tell me it was ready to collect. About 3PM I did receive a phone call from Curry's, trying to sell me an extended warranty which I had explicitly stated that I was not interested in at the purchase time.
No further contact from Curry's that day, so the next day I called what is laughingly called Customer Support. I phoned 4 times over the next few days and was hung up on once, and got 3 slightly different stories about the fate of my tablet. To be fair they did offer me 10% discount on the first call, but that meant I was less likely to cancel the whole order, but I was still tempted. They also promised me that a manager would call me back within 24 hours - didn't happen! Apparently the original tablet was damaged in transit, and their warehouse wouldn't send out a replacement until they had received the first one back, making it look like Curry's don't trust their own staff. I was also told that it could be up to a week before the tablet would be in the store. Anyway, I was so frustrated with Customer Lies (oops I mean Support) that I went back to the store in Dunfermline where initially I was told that their was little they could do as it was an online order - I pointed out it wasn't an online order as I had bought it in the shop, but they said as they had ordered it it was an online order, which is absurd. I stood firm and insisted on speaking to a manager, and he was great. He arranged for a replacement to be sourced from another local branch and I was able to collect it the next day.
The Dunfermline staff especially the manager (whose name I didn't catch) were excellent, but the Customer Suport is a disgrace. As someone who has bought many things from Curry's over the years I will never buy there again, especially if the item is not in stock in brach for me to take away there and then.
One reason I like to buy local is that I always feel if there is a problem then I have a local place to go to for a resolution, but Curry's seem to be far too "regimented" in how they handle "issues" and their support is not remotely customer-centric. It seems the customer is an inconvenience and not the person who pays their wages.

CTronics IP camera bought on Amazon

I bought a CTronics camera on Amazon, and it was great for about 15 months. All of a sudden it died, and it was obviously too old for Amazon to help much, other than to point me to CTronics Support.
They (CTronics Support) have been fantastic. They went through a few tests with me, and agreed the camera wes "dead". The sent me a new one without requiring the faulty one to be returned, and it arrived just over a week later.
This is how customer service should be - puts the customer first. Any piece of electronics can randomly fail, but what matters is how a company handles the situation, and CTronics would definitely be rated as GOLD - Good products and superb backup.
