Buyee was my first experience using a proxy. I placed my order with them via Mercari JP, and had the purchase secured about a day later. I was a little surprised by how much the shipping was ($25 for some misc anime goods...keychains, coasters) but the items were HTF, and this was during the thick of Covid (higher shipping), so I proceeded with the transaction willingly. I paid for my item, I paid the fees, and I paid for the shipping.

Cue the wait. Roughly 4 months with no updates. Due to the amount of time, I started to get concerned that something had happened to the package. The tracking finally updated, stating that for some unknown reason, the package was being sent back to Buyee. I was shocked by this. I double-checked, and my address was correct...so why was it being re-routed back to Buyee before it ever reached my state?

I contacted Buyee. A few days later I got a response. They stated that they had the package, but to get it, I had to pay the shipping. AGAIN. So, for a lot of misc anime goods that cost $18 total, I'd be out FIFTY DOLLARS for shipping, with no guarantee that the package would ever reach me this time.

At this point, I was fed up. The package was no longer worth it to me. I contacted Buyee and told them that unless the reason behind the package being re-routed was discovered, I didn't feel comfortable giving them more money. No answer.

I reached out again. No answer. I was so frustrated with their lack of help, that I decided to do a charge back through PayPal. Due to the fact that the package never reached me, PayPal refunded me on Buyee's behalf.

As if by magic, Buyee begins contacting me again, making demands that I pay them. They state that I will be permanently banned from their platform, as if I'd ever want to do business with them again.

I remind them that I don't want to pay for shipping again they can explain why the package was re-routed to them. They seem to ignore this, reminding me again that I will be banned unless I pay before a certain amount of days. The e-mails became hostile and frequent, but just like they ignored me, I ignored them. Finally, they stopped messaging me.

Overall, this was a TERRIBLE experience. I spoke with another user on MyFigureCollection, who spent a whopping 2k with them, only to have a similar experience with the shipping. I was so fortunate that my purchase was small in comparison. Moral of the story? DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, BUY FROM BUYEE. I cannot warn people against them enough. They are corrupt. Their reviews on Trustpilot were so horrendous, that they literally had to bribe people (by offering 300yen off) if they left them a good review. That alone speaks volumes.
