I made an online complaint about my experience with Ultion locks service and product.

Please see previous '1 star' feedback from several weeks ago on this platform

They replied with an untruth as below.

During our recent phone call, we discussed the issue and confirmed that we would replace the product under warranty after inspection. We also offered for the end user to contact us directly so we could support them with a resolution and avoid further disruption. On the call, you expressed that you were happy with this outcome and glad you had reached out.

This was an untrue statement. How could any one be happy with the costs incurred with a new Ultion cylinder that we supplied to our client to fail with in weeks and cost we incurred to correct this for our client going into hundreds of pounds for Locksmith call outs. One to secure the clients property, to fit a temporary lock and then back to fit the new replacement lock.

How could anyone in business be happy with that sort of limited guarantee that will not cover for any costs incurred in rectifying the customer company/issue with an Ultion lock. Read your reply again where by you say you would replace the lock after inspection. A complete waste of a guarantee as what is the customer do in the time that it takes to do the above. In the real world a complete joke of a statement as my client told us when reading the reply from Ultion.

This platform does not allow you to reply in the original compliant so I just wanted to put the record straight that their comment was indeed an untruth. Shame on you.

My conversation with the Ultion office was to voice utter disappointment in their warranty/service that limits them to only replacing the lock after inspection ignoring the client cost with a lock that failed after on a few weeks.

So my last comment to them during our conversation was to voice my disappointment with their service in any way I could, and I did.

I am not happy with their service or their false comment.

Shame on Ultion for stating this untruth.

I do hope that they do not reply with an untruth statement again.

To clarify, during our phone call we confirmed that the product would be replaced under warranty after inspection, and we also offered for the end user to contact us directly so we could support them with a resolution. Our warranty covers the lock itself, but like all hardware warranties it does not extend to cover locksmith callout costs.

We understand this can feel frustrating in the event of an emergency, but our process is clear and consistent so we can resolve product issues fairly for all customers.

Very Disappointing. Zero Stars.

Very Disappointing. Zero stars. Not many people will know this potential costly issue. We are currently dealing with 16 new build houses using Ultion Cylinders to all doors.
Ultion offer no 'consequential' loss for any faulty cylinders. This means that if a lock fails as we have had after 4 weeks (and is a security or entry issue that need immediate attention) you have to employ a Lock Smith to come to site gain entry and remove the faulty lock and fit new lock. An Ultion cylinder if possible and they do not cover the call out costs £300 to £400 pounds upwards. You then have too send the faulty cylinder to them and they inspect the cylinder and then hopefully send you a new cylinder for you to employ the same locksmith again to fit the new lock at the same cost as above so now will cost the end user a total cost in the region of £600 minimum. Ultion will not cover the losses/costs of making the property secure in instances like this of having a Ultion cylinder which has failed after 4 weeks.

So basically the above instance as in most cylinder failures (usually emergencies), their guarantee as such is useless.

This guarantee is about as good as a chocolate kettle in a situation that we have found ourselves in.. Why should the end user have to pay for the failings of Ultion??

The only thing is to buy additional cylinders to cater for an ultion lock failure and this may help??

So you have to cater for Ultions failings.

A pretty useless service in instances like the above and a very expensive exercise for the end user such as us.

Just beware of the potential cost in using Ultion cylinders as we have found to our cost.

We understand how frustrating emergency callouts can be. While our warranty covers the lock itself, it does not include external costs such as locksmith fees — a standard approach across the hardware industry.

Amazing, just Amazing

Amazing Company. We have used Roseview for many years without any issues. We had a small issue in a recent job which we felt was a manufacturing fault. They went to site cured the issue and sent photos and video of the issue and the cure, It was not a manufacturing problem at all. A fixing screw had come loose, their engineer tightened it and never made a fuss. What excellent service. We have also learnt something today after 41 years of being in business. Great company. Great service..

I must say so refreshing to do business…

I must say so refreshing to do business with Martin Wisby at DreamLease.

We as a company buy 3 or 4 vehicles a year on lease. This is the first time we have used DreamLease. Absolutely excellent service from start to finish in placing the order.
Martin is so unlike all of the other pushy lease companies that we deal with, whereby they keep chasing us continually after they have quoted. Very off putting, but DreamLease seem to be so different, refreshing way to do business in this Day and age.

Awful after sales service zero stars out of 10.

Very very poor after sales. Good company to deal with before delivery infact excellent. But the after sales service has been awful. We bought '8 no Part Q compliant door viewers part no. CH3007 1 Chamelion Adaptable 160 degree door viewer. Polished Chrome 35mm - 85mm'

We needed the 85mm part of this item to use on 8 doors. Unfortunately only 2 of this set would work correctly when screwing the extended viewer in. We had to force cut the threads in the other 6, which took ages on site and with £500 per day on site costs we could not afford to send the faulty items back and then wait for new items and revisit site so client could get doors signed off.

So I ordered another 2 thinking that this may have been just a bad batch but they came yesterday and we checked them out in our factory. Again on both items the extended part does not fit correctly, only screws partly in. Rang up today to voice may dismay about the quality of the product. The guy on the end of the line more or less said nothing to do with him as they only bought them in to sell on. We broke one of the viewers trying to get them screwed in today, again he said, not his problem and the supplier would not entertain a refund. Very frustrating to say the least. I explained to him about the consumers fit for purpose act but he was not aware of this and no help at all. The only reason I am writing this complaint is that you can only judge the pedigree of a company by the way they handle after sales issues and complaints. This company failed miserably.

When the going gets tough the weak run away and hide as in this case.

We will never use this company again for any projects based on how the badly managed this complaint. We will keep the dodgy views pinned to our board to remind us of how not to deal with customer complaints. Not even worth sending them back based on my interaction with them today and the cost /time in doing this.

Please let me know if any other customers have had this problem with the 85mm part of this door viewer.

I have been using Ultion locks for…

I have been using Ultion locks for several years via Door Stop Intnl. dealing with Door Stop to get a replacement barrel set (12 months old that has failed) has been difficult to say there least. Door Stop were absolutely no help at all and has left our end user/customer with an insecure door. Basically once they have your money the after sales although polite when they do reply is no good at all when it comes to Ultion Locks. Ultion themselves have been amazing and have dealt with the issue promptly by sending out a new barrel for next day delivery. Very impressed.

We have been dealing with Duration for…

We have been dealing with Duration for over 20 years now and can honestly say that as an Aluminium window/door supplier that their product and service is very good indeed. They work in a very difficult sector of our industry and are always reliant on the Aluminium extruders for deliveries. Unlike UPVC which is literally an on the shelf system as it were. We only use Duration because of their product, professionalism and aftersales service. We would rate them overall at 9 out of 10 across the board.
