Review of Fire Detection Shop

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Worst company, poor communication, will refuse to refund.

Fire detection shop are hands down the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.
I ordered a set of smoke alarms on 4 October 2021, I ordered as they showed, in bright green, as in stock.
After a couple of weeks I messaged them which was ignored and so messaged again to get a reply saying they were getting orders out slowly due to demand.
Another 2 weeks go by and again I message for an update which is again ignored so I called the shop. The person I spoke to said the demand meant orders were being slow in being shipped. I said I did not believe they had stock and was told they had stock in the warehouse and would be shipped shortly.
Well, fast forward to January 2022 and still no items arrived. An email from Fire Detection Shop tried to blame their supplier and basically admitted they had ordered stock in August but it had not come from the supplier. They have been selling items and showing them as in stock when they don't have stock to sell.
So this basically shows they will lie to your face and tell you they have stock when they actually never did. They show items in stock when they have none.
To top it off they offered to send their own brand detectors for the same price as the known brand detectors. Clear profiteering, why would I pay a premium price for an own brand item only available from them.
So, I email asking for a refund, again ignored and so I open a dispute in PayPal, they took 2 days to respond to that, only asking for the invoice number, they canceled the order on the website but did not refund. I waited 4 days and sent 3 messages through PayPal all of which were ignored. I then opened a case for PayPal to deal with this. As part of this PayPal message Fire Detection Shop for their side, guess what, Fire Detection Shop even ignore PayPal.
Case was closed in my favour and money refunded by PayPal but only after 2 weeks of opening the dispute.
I would not touch this company, they will lie, ignore communications and try to hold on to your money for as long as possible, they will blame everyone but themselves. Completely unprofessional company with no care for customer service.
Reading other reviews here shows similar behaviour from this company.
Avoid.

I got introduced to Detailed Online by…

I got introduced to Detailed Online by buying a kit with a good selection of products of theirs on eBay.
I was happy with everything and have since ordered more from their website.
Delivery was next day although I did not pay extra for this.
I love their air freshener, makes my car smell nice and clean and fresh and everything I have used has done what it should. I like that you can choose the scent of a lot of their products.
Good prices, especially when buying larger quantities.
I am not a pro but like to keep my car clean and protected without overpaying and these people help me do that.

Happy to use Cinch again

Buying my car from Cinch was mostly easy.
Only issue I had was that Cinch was unable to take my old car as PX as its value was higher than the car I bought, a pity as they were offering the highest price for the old car.
Ordering was easy, I liked that they accept Amex, a welcome bonus as I was able to get a stack of BA Avois.
Delivery was on time and the driver was great, showed me all the main controls.
There was a welcome pack in the car with a mug and shopping bag, it did say there would be a key fob also that is GPS and helps you find your keys if lost, that was not in the car, pity as it may be handy. Cinch if you read this can I get a GPS key fob sent out?
The car was immaculate, clean enough although not spotless inside. It came with about a quarter tank of fuel.
I was worried about buying a car unseen but if the cars are to the standard of this one there is nothing to worry about.
I took up the 3 day free insurance offer, handy to test out the car, and Cinchcare. Cinchcare will save me some money but yet to use it so reserve judgement until I do.
Overall I was quite happy with the experience, nothing went wrong and the car was actually better than expected.
I would use Cinch again.

Review of Cazoo UK

Would be good to get the value Cazoo assess the car at once they see and drive it!

I sold my car to Cazoo as they were offering the best price for it without buying a new car, I had found a car I wanted elsewhere. The offer was very good, even though I had assessed the condition to the best of my ability as "average".
Booking the car in was easy enough although there were no pick up times available and so I had to book in for me to drop the car off, this meant a 2 and a half hour round trip, me driving my car and my wife in hers following to pick me up, I wish they had more sites or offered better pick up availability. Another thing was that you need to sign in to your bank account and link it in order to get paid, not very comfortable about that but it was the only way.
Dropping the car off went well although there are some improvements I could suggest.
I had assessed my car as "average" due to a couple of marks on it, speaking to the person who inspected it, they said they had assessed it as "good" although I was not offered the "good" value and so, due to me not being a pro vehicle assessor, missed out on around £300. Cazoo would give a lower value if it was assessed lower than declared, it should really work the other way also, if they see it as better than declared give the higher value, at the end of the day Cazoo will sell it for more or have lower recon costs. I guess some things are about profit and not customer delight. Maybe asses your car higher and let them chip it down if needed, you can go down but not up apparently!
Drop off was quick and easy and took around 10 minutes all in, there were drinks available in the showroom and after a while in the car, and the need to spend the same time again to get home, the use of the toilets was welcome, especially as we had a young child with us.
The second the Cazoo rep told me they were happy I got a notification that the money was in my bank and on checking, right enough, it was there.
Unfortunately when I got home I discovered the person I dropped my car to had forgotten to give my drivers licence back, I needed it as I was getting a new car delivered the next day, so I called customer service, I got through quickly enough and they called the drop off point who confirmed my license was there. I had to drive straight back up, all in a 2 and a half hour plus round trip again.
So would be 5 stars if I got the actual, assessed by a Cazoo rep, value of my car, 2 stars off for that definitely as it cost me a good bit of money and for the admin error that cost me about 3 hours of my time and a good bit of worry as I needed it the next morning plus the cost of petrol, because of all that 3 stars - Average.
Edit: I put Cazoo up 1 star as they called me off this review to discuss. Apparently, I should have been given the chance to cancel and rebook on the higher offer. Customer service have since paid me the difference. 1 star added for listening and putting things right quickly.
