Terrible Cosmetic Insurance Policy and poor customer experience.
I purchased EMaC's Cosmetic and alloy wheel maintenance plan from my supplying dealer as it seemed like a worthwhile policy to have in place.
What I thought was a reputable company turned out to be untrustworthy and useless.
Nothing but problems from EMaC when I first tried to claim under this worthless policy. This policy is very ambiguous and open to EMaC's interpretation.
Submitted a claim under this policy after around 11 months. EMaC Communications went as follows:
EMaC "We are happy to confirm the repair request has been authorised with our approved repair agent"
EMaC Unfortunately after reviewing the claim we sent across, the repair agent has advised the damage is not suitable for a mobile repair service to fix.
EMaC then provided many reasons why my claim wasn't now accepted. I can only wonder why EMaC ever authorised the repair and passed it to their repair agent if it didn't meet their remit. EMaC later stated, "It is clear that the damage sustained to your vehicle exceeds the scope of a mobile repair."
I established who EMaC's repair agent was and obtained a quote myself for their mobile repair service to fix the damage to my car.
In addition, I obtained several quotes from other mobile body repair companies and ALL quoted and confirmed a mobile repair service would rectify the damage to my car.
However, EMaC persistently tried to tell me that my car needed a Bodyshop repair but this was not true as numerous mobile repair agents were pleased to quote for their mobile repair service fix.
I eventually submitted a Complaint to EMaC, but their biased complaints department simply wrote, "As this is the decision of our Assessor and Senior Technician, I am unable to change this." EMaC didn't bother to examine their processes, and there was no sensibility check.
EMaC's assessor/repair agent quoted me independently for a mobile service repair to fix the damage to my car. I feel that EMaC grossly exaggerated the damage to dismiss my claim. Let's also not forget that EMaC was happy to authorise my repair when I first submitted details online. If the damage was that bad, I'm sure my claim should have been dismissed but EMaC passed it to their repair agent.
In the end, I had no choice but to cancel this worthless policy, but I have lost money with EMaC's imposed cancellation terms which I aim to recover.
Overall I've concluded that EMaC is an unprofessional and shoddy company with no integrity whatsoever and unquestionably makes things up as a claim is processed to aid dismissal.
I am sure that I am not the only customer to experience this approach from EMaC with their Cosmetic Maintenance Plan.
This EMaC policy is not worth the paper it's written on. Save your money and go direct to the numerous mobile repair agents should the need ever arise!
