Use the best and forget the rest

Our house is large with underfloor heating throughout, powered by a ground source heat pump. When the hot water cylinder sprung a leak, every other "plumber and heating engineer" contacted found some excuse not to help. I don't mean one or two, but nearly the first 10 from Worcester Bosch's own recommended list.
Not so with Ben at BCA. His helpful and 'can do' attitude was a refreshing change to the responses from the other dinosaur companies.
The specialist replacement tank was sourced and installed with minimum fuss or disruption. We will not consider another company for anything plumbing related and neither (hopefully) will anyone else who reads this review.
Good job BCA 👏👏👏

Great value, these guys work out the best deal on a month by month basis without any need for me to think about it. Coverage is great, in fact there is nothing not to like!

Use SHARPS not these cowboys

Between these guys and Novuna finance we have been stitched up.
Months ago we gave Hammonds an order for bespoke fitted furniture and were offered "6 months interest free" by signing up with Novuna.
We didn't need credit but a delay in payment gave us two advantages, so we thought. Firstly, cash flow as we had the funds but demand is always high on personal resources and secondly it gave us an extra level of protection if Hammonds didn't deliver.
Surprise!
Whilst Novuna state in the finance agreement that you authorise them to make payment to your supplier when "goods/services have been supplied" they DO NOT require any proof ie satisfaction note, delivery note etc to make payment.
The supplier says "done" Novuna pay up and you are stuck with a credit agreement for something that is substandard and in dispute.
No one cares, especially Novuna or Hammonds because they know you are on the hook.
Can you imagine signing up for credit on a car that's delivered without any wheels and still having to pay for it? Madness
We raised a complaint too, told "no legal obligation to provide a satisfaction note prior to making payment"
Hammonds were in competition with Sharps and promised a better deal financially and finishes that we preferred. In the end we didn't get what we wanted at all, wish we'd gone with Sharps and paid cash.
This sharp practice should be illegal but it isn't so BEWARE

AVOID if possible

Between these guys and Hammonds fitted furniture we have been stitched up.

The full package 👍

Easy to use website made purchase very easy. We added the full disconnect/connect/recycle package and the guys were great and overcame some hidden wiring trauma
They did try and sell additional warranty cover which was quite aggressive but given the 5 year manufacturers warranty, wasn't worth £10 a month extra

Review of Tradeglaze (Lincoln) Ltd

Clearly the best window fitters

Bought our house 6 months ago (it's 6 years old) and one of double glazed units was blown. It's not small, 3m x 2m, weighing in at 140kg.
Emma and her team have been amazing. Today a team of 5 arrived and with zero fuss and little mess, the replacement was in and they were gone in 2 hours.
Totally professional, totally recommend Tradeglaze.

Review of Buildex

Should have bought it from Screwfix...

UPDATE 27th May: Despite James assurance that a colleague was going to contact me THAT day, no one did. No surprise there unfortunately
Bought a cordless DeWalt mower from Buildex, everything went as expected until it arrived.
It didn't work.
Not Buildex fault, these things happen but their response was poor. They didn't read my email saying "it's just arrived, no obvious damage, doesn't work. Any suggestions?" their response "please send photos of the damage"
I got a returns label in the end, my request for a replacement was ignored and they refunded my money instead. Great.
Hope this isn't the future of Internet shopping!
