Splitit is a technology provider that enables retailers and merchants to offer monthly credit card installment payments to their customers in exchange for the products or services that they sell. We work with a variety of merchants and offer different payment options.

The authorizations (holds) are taken for the full outstanding amount of your plan to guarantee payments to the retailer or merchant you have ordered from. They do not become charges as long as your installment plan is kept up to date, and whether you will be able to use the reserved funds or not is the decision of your card issuer, given that banking systems are different.

While we understand that placing a hold on your card wasn't the best option for you, we would like to confirm that the benefit of Splitit is that each month, only the installment payment is actually charged to your credit card. In turn, your credit card company only bills you for the monthly installment payment that has been charged to your card and not the whole amount of the purchase, as it would if you had paid on your credit card outright.

All of this enables us to offer Splitit without applications, credit checks, or fees.
