Watch out! Very obstructive returns policy.
I have purchased from Lambda-Tek several times over the years but never before had to make a return. This item doesn't work with my computer so I need to return it. Under Distance Selling regulations, this should be straightforward. (See gov .uk website accepting-returns-and-giving-refunds.) But Lambda go against the regulations in AT LEAST the three following ways. 1. If the box has been opened, no return accepted. 2. Tighter time limits than the regulations allow. 3. Refusal to accept obligations as retailer for faulty goods; seeking to invoke manufacturer's warranty instead.
ALL of these contravene the Distance Selling regulations and I will never buy from them again.

RESPONSE TO LAMBA-TEK'S REPLY
Okay what about these T&Cs then:
1. "Unwanted products will be taken back ...so long as...the package is unopened and no seals have been broken." NOTE This contravenes the Regs (unless digital content).
2. "We will refund...within 30 days of receiving the returned goods." NOTE The Regs state 30 days from notification, not receipt.
3. "This authorization is valid only for 5 working days to send the item back and 10 days to receive it," NOTE This does not appear in the Regs.
4. "Depending on the manufacturer's warranty..." NO. The responsibility relies ENTIRELY with the retailer. This is a cop-out (though quite common).
Haven't got time to go through more BUT:
You'd think that having been shown to be in the wrong, a little contrition from Lamba-Tek would have been preferable to more foot-in-mouthery.
I wonder if they will honour their return obligations. They seem honourable if somewhat mistaken so I expect they will but - watch this space!
Monday 25 Jan. Refunded. But what a palaver!
