TADO not compatible with new Worcester Bosch boilers

Set up the Tado X system in my large, old house.
I now have a new boiler (Worcester Bosch) which uses EMS2 as its communication protocol. TADO has decided not to invest in this protocol, so I have to operate my boiler using simple relay - negating many of the benefits of a new boiler.

I also see that TADO have shut down their community forum - a place where owners could share experiences and tips. What are TADO afraid of?

Hello Nick,

Normally customers that already have tado consult with us or our Help Center when they're going to acquire a new boiler to first understand if it's going to be compatible or not before making their decision. It is really unfortunate to find out afterwards because one didn't used the resources that were available to them.

This is for example one of the topics for which the Community was not helpful. Disinformed people consulting there instead of our support or Help Center was being mislead without solving their problems.

Installer (Tony) was honest about the…

Installer (Tony) was honest about the downsides of our choice to have a combi boiler installed in alarge house with mediocre water pressure. So we changed the instal to a standard boiler which Tony installed professionally - even putting protective cloth all the way from the basement to the front door.

Hey Nick,

We believe honestly is the best policy. Sometimes changing boiler types or going for the biggest sized boiler isn't always useful and is just spending money with no benefit. We would rather guide you towards suitable boilers and suitable sizes instead of upsell you to a unit you wouldn't need. 🤌🏻

I'm glad Tony was able to have a look at the set up and give you a heads up on a better alternative for your home. Tony is a brilliant engineer and always puts care into every job he tackles. 😎

Problem dealing with issues, but eventually sorted

The app works ok, but the customer service is robotic. I've spent several hours trying to get my mobile number linked to the calling feature. The required SMS message was never sent, and customer service keep sending the same responses over and over again, despite promising to sort it out.

Updated as issue eventually sorted out. Thank you.

Do not use. They are an amateur company happy to take your money and then disappear.

Booked and completed a test on 5th January. Past 10pm on the 6th and no results. No follow up email. Nothing at all. They are cowboys.
I now have to cancel my flight. I will be suing them and using Halo testing at the Sofitel who have a much better reputation.
