Not worth the aggravation

I exclusively use the phone app on my iPhone to use the service. It is virtually impossible to create a separate address book for the business number. You can only give the service access to your entire phone personal address book. Since I don’t want or need to build an address book from my personal list, this is useless. It requires you to look up a number each time you want to place a call to a business contact. The service does not identify spam calls. Other than a modest fee for the service, I would recommend you look elsewhere for a business phone service.

This is a final update

This is a final update of my previous two reviews of Intermedia. Sadly, I will be canceling my service and using another VOIP phone service. I gave the company numerous opportunities to remedy the deficiencies, but I think they do not have the ability to do so.
The text message function cannot be fixed. You cannot delete prior messages, so when you want to send a new text to any contact, it is automatically attached to the previous message(s). You cannot delete any prior calls in the “history” section. The phone app doesn’t always notify you of messages or calls.
In speaking with other VOIP companies I was told that these problems result from Intermedia’s system, but honestly, I don’t have the technical knowledge to understand it all. What I can say is that when I have contacted them, the service people say they will “work on it” and then I never hear from them again.
If you want to use, or rely upon, the mobile app to conduct business with your VOIP phone number, you may wish to investigate using another company for that service. This one is disappointing.

This is an update of a prior review

This is an update of a prior review. The company has been working hard to resolve issues with its app. I am confident that future updates will resolve the issues. Currently, the texting function in the phone app has a few glitches. It doesn’t show the name of the person sending a text (if they are already in your contact list), unless you input their number with +1 before then 10 digits. They promise a remedy soon. You cannot delete prior texts & this will also be addressed in updates. Their staff is very helpful & caring, so you feel your problems are being handled. Follow up is very good. Once they iron out these issues, I would be willing to give them an excellent rating.

Not ready for prime time

The tech support is very good & responsive; however the phone app is deficient. You cannot delete any prior text messages or calls; the incoming texts only show the number, forcing you to go through your entire contact list to match it to a name (so you can determine who sent the text); incoming reply texts are not included in a text “conversation), but appear as a new, unrelated text (which seems to occur if the phone number you use for a text has parentheses). I think the tech people are great, but this service is mostly “not ready for prime time” If you have a web FAX with them (as I do for business), the confirmation is deficient. It just shows “delivered” & the date only. It doesn’t show how many pages were delivered, which isn’t sufficient for business or the courts.
