Update May 24, 2025
Update as of 5/24/25 - Originally, I only gave 3 stars. Today I changed that to 5 stars!! It has now been almost a year since I started using PhysicalAddress.com. Once I got past the sign-up process, and since then, I am VERY happy with the service. Someone always replies promptly if I have a question or concern - and even when I just have a suggestion! New envelope arrivals are scanned very promptly and when I ask for the envelopes to be opened and contents to be scanned, that also happens very promptly, often on the same day. When I have asked for specific items to be forwarded, that has also happened very promptly and the items have arrived within the estimated times. Moreover, the new app is much easier to use and the pricing is still excellent for the service. I can now HIGHLY recommend this virtual mailbox service.
From 6/27/2024 The sign-up process was frustrating and tedious. I couldn't get past the 1st page - personal info (no prob with this) and password creation.
My passwords were not accepted. The instructions say "Password requires 1 numeric (0-9), 1 lowercase (a-z), 1 uppercase (A-Z) and be 8 to 64 characters in length". It would be very helpful if they were more specific. The instructions should read: "Password requires at least 1 number between 0 and 9, at least 1 lowercase (a-z), at least 1 uppercase (a-z) and be 8 to 64 characters in length. ONLY numbers and letters - no other characters are allowed!"
Especially during the current push for longer and more complex passwords, this addition is especially important.
I made several calls and mostly received a message to leave a message and someone would call me back within 1 hour. That never happened. I never received a call back. After waiting for more than an hour for the callback, i called again and was lucky enough to get to a real person. She said sometimes there are problems with Firefox and Safari, so use Chrome. I tried that with no success. I called back and got the recording again. After waiting about 2 hours, i called back and again felt incredibly lucky to have gotten to a real person. I explained that I couldn't get the signup page to accept any password i tried and asked what other suggestions she had. She said she didn't have any other suggestions. In retrospect, it would have been vitally helpful if she had clarified that ONLY numbers and letters are allowed, but she didn't mention that.
I gave up for a while and we went back into the back-country for a month with no cell service. I reconsidered my virtual mail options and was so frustrated that I almost went with another company.
When I tried the next time, it worked. I haven't had any mail come through yet, so can't comment on how that will go.
We did learn, after signing up, that the google app is not compatible with our Android phones. When I sent an email to "help" asking if they knew why that might be, as we had never met an app that was not compatible with our phones, they responded quickly (yeah! Thank you!) and said they didn't know, but the app is read-only anyway so to do anything with your mail, you'll need to use the website. I think that should have been made clear on the website BEFORE signing up.
