Went to have my eyes tested
Went to have my eyes tested. I made the point 3 times that with my previous prescrition I was unable to focus on my computer monitor properly which I use most of my day and also that I had to extend my arms all of the way to read a book. I said this 3 times !!
So as with previous check ups I was asked if I wanted bifocals, this time I went for it. Mistake!
There was a misunderstanding as I thought the bifocals would be for looking at my PC monitor and for reading. Two weeks later glasses arrive and they are for far vision and for reading. Not pleased in the least as I use my PC much of the day everyday and I strain to see the monitor.
I made an appointment to talk to someone. The person I saw was very kind. They recommended some glasses for the PC which I now have.
As I am stuck with the bifocals I decided to use them for a few days. I knew immediately they are not all what I wanted. The far vision part of the glasses work great, I hadnt realised my eyes were this bad until now. However, the reading part of the glasses dominate half of the lens. I am constantly tripping and have fallen twice.
I cant use them outside walking as for me they are outright dangerous. I use the reading part of the glasses not more than 10 minutes each day, so almost useless but that part of the glasses dominate half of my vision as a complete blur. I would rather of had one single lense for long sight and a pair of bifocals for the computer and reading. I cant explain how angry I am over this.
So, I would say the staff at Specsavers were all very kind, friendly etc and the price are fine.
However, for me lifestyle was not taken into consideration despite me telling them 3 times. I would of been happy with a pair of bifocals for the PC and reading. Then another pair for outside far/distance.
