I wish there were more records…

I wish there were more records available. I have found for example that with New South Wales records, they start to get a bit patchy after 1920 or so, often nothing is there -BD&M & voters lists. Also I have found a lot more records on ancestry.com pertaining to London England than on findmypast. ANCESTRY seems to have a deal with the London metropolitan archives, which cuts out a lot of important content from findmypast.
One thing in you favour is that I find it impossible too navigate the official Tasmanian BDM website esp. pre 1900 and your site makes it easy.

Hello Barry,

Thank you for your review of Findmypast.

We're sorry to hear you're unhappy with our records for this time period. A big factor here is the 100 year rule where all information must be held for 100 years before it's allowed to be published.

We will pass on your feedback on your behalf to the relevant department.

If you need any help in the future with our records, you may want to try Findmypast Fridays on our social media accounts (@Findmypast), or for any account queries you can contact our Customer Support team via email, telephone or live chat.

Kind regards,

Support Team @ Findmypast
