Review of Newsec Property Asset Management
On moving to Denmark a common piece of advice for renting in Copenhangen given to Expats is beware of the people to rent from. And rent from a big company as they tend to be better to deal with for Expats.
I'd be very cautious renting from Newsec. Poor service doesn't even begin to describe what I have recieved. In a segment of the market where people are prepared to pay a premium, the service you expect is non-existant.
During the moving out process this is what I have experienced:
1. After handing in my notice I recieved an eviction notice for non payment of rent through their agent - DEAS. This informed me I had 14 days to vacate the apartment or I would be evicted immediately. This was in the middle of the Corona lockdown! I called them, the first 3 people I spoke to said there was nothing to be done. Finally I spoke to someone who realised this was an error. After 2 sleepless nights! I want to clarify I was renting originally through DEAS who operated the property management and this was transferred to Newsec in regards to the comment below.
2. Upon return of my apartment and the handover being completed I never recieved a copy of the move out report. I still to this day have only got an email from a customer service agent informing me of the work. This took over 6 weeks to get.
3. I then chased to see when my deposit would be returned. I got no response to 3 emails and I eventually spoke to a manager. Again after more back and forth I got an email informing me it would be as soon as they got the invoices back which hadn't been recieved yet (but they had).
4. After 6 weeks I get a mail to inform me they now have the invoices and would pay my deposit back less the "damages". I discover they have attached the invoice. This was dated 1 month earlier so they have had the invoice at the time of asking and just sat on it for a month.
5. The return of my deposit was less damages (normal repainting etc) however, the apartment was not newly painted when I moved in. The cost for this was extremely high compared to what I have paid to have my new apartment renovated when I have just bought it. The return was however completed in 2 days from being informed which I can't complain about.
I can't stress how painful this experience has been. I've tried to be objective in this review but I would urge real caution about using this "respectable" company. They now manage the apartment block I have just bought an apartment in. I will be speaking to the board in the apartment to change management as the experience has been deeply damaging.
Following the below I exchanged several emails and provided evidence of all of the above to Newsec. Despite this looking proactive on their part and replying to emails faster than at any other point in the process this issue remains unsatisfactorily resolved.
Please be very cautious about using this busness!
