If I could choose 0 stars
Redrow - Hamlet Park . If I could choose 0 stars, I would. Customer service was amazing at first but things went down hill rapidly. House was almost built when we reserved and felt we could move in fairly quickly. Reservation paperwork did not make an easement very clear at the end of the garden. We picked this up when solicitor asked us to sign legal plans. Gas pipes etc were very clear but the easement appeared to have been missed off. We were very disappointed as couldn’t complete the garden as we had been planning. We were invited to a pre-exchange inspection and that’s where things got worse. The house was nowhere near finished with several quality issues including mastic which had been applied to all hard floors when the property was dirty. Kitchen units were chipped, doors had chunks missing, thermostats mounted to bits of drywall stuck onto walls. Old damaged that had been seen outside such as broken electric meter box cupboard had been painted and mastic in with the damage clearly there. We raised this with site and said we wouldn’t exchange with it in this condition. Finally, the icing on the cake was the completion date. We had asked for an extension from June to July due to my sons long term health. This was initially supported by Redrow who seemed to be very supportive. Sadly, this was short lived when they rang our entire chain to tell them we needed to complete in June not July. They then advised this was our chain who said June and emailed us to advise our sale and purchase were at risk. Thankfully we managed to speak to the chain who advised they were fine to wait. Due to the easement, terrible build quality and the bully tactics for early completion, we withdrew from the purchase. Our advice, check all your paperwork, the sales team are not your friends, demand quality and don’t put up with bully tactics.
