TrustPilot is good, except for insurance company ratings

I use TrustPilot a lot and its my go-to site when needing reviews on all kinds of things.

However for insurance companies the ratings are completely misleading. Almost all ratings for insurance companies are "It was easy to purchase insurance"... well of course it was! And due to this they have an misleading high score,

Then try searching for "Claims" for that insurance company, and in many cases the reviews all turn negative. This is incredibly misleading and the scores on many insurance companies means nothing.

It would be good for TrustPilot to require reviewers to select a "Did you make a claim" tick box, and give two scores; an overall score and claims score. This would be incredibly helpful since most people viewing an insurance company want to know how easy it is to claim, and NOT how easy it is to purchase insurance. Currently the scores for insurance companies is pointless for many.

Review of RAC Breakdown Cover

We've used RAC for years - always good service

We've used RAC for years, and they've always been reliable and quick when we needed them. Our recent call out was no different, the customer service lady was polite and helpful, we needed someone quite quickly and she made sure to help. The RAC chap came within a short time as promised, and really was helpful in getting our car going again. He also explained everything as he went along. (Thanks Steve! ID: 2846). Highly recommended.

Rip-off prices

We've had Pet Plan for 4 years now, and their pricing is just rediculous. We've had no claims, but yet it goes up by £150 every year!
They said that they don't increase prices when making a claim, but they put your costs up every year anyway which even worse. We've not made a claim as yet and so can't comment on that, but due to their pricing its time to jump ship...

Update:
From Pet Plans reply below, I can appreciate that premiums might increase a little each year to cover overall claims, but the price jump each year is just too high. A small increase is fine, but not £150 per year. It becomes unaffordable very quickly.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy about the way our premium increase works. Our pricing strategy is different from many other pet insurance providers.

The premiums increase yearly and can rise significantly throughout the pet's lifetime. We want to help our insured pets as much as possible so we increase our premiums in order for us to do this. If we didn't increase the premiums we would have to pay less claims. We don't increase the premiums as a result of a policyholder's claims so they can submit claims without worrying it would affect the premiums. SCAM, don't buy!

Yes, its a scam. You will get Fake tracking details, which say its been delivered and signed for (which of course it hasn't). Check the tracking carefully, you'll notice it mentions tracking through some UK delivery depots which don't actually exist.
Emailing them and you'll get a standard reply to check with your local "post office" (no specifics on which company nor a UK tracking number). The website is also fake, except that it allows you to pay!
You'll have to request your bank for a charge back, its the only way you'll get any money back. I've passed the details onto the UK and Chinese fraud authorities.

Awful customer service and rip-off charges

Awful customer service and rip-off delivery charges. Paid £10 for delivery of trainers and some other bits, no order confirmation came through. Received trainers that were not expected, took 4 days trying to get them to send the order confirmation that I never received (and was promised free return), finally get the order confirmation and now they trying to charge £4.99 to return them. Never shopping with Sports Direct again, far too much hassle and charging to both deliver AND return is disgraceful in this day and age.

Bought some Christmas LED lights. Exactly as described and quick delivery.
A fault developed after a few weeks, and customer support were very swift in sending a replacement without any hassle. Great company and very pleased. Thanks

Never deliver their items, and now in administration

Eaglemoss are a complete waste of time. Ordered a (Star Trek) model last October, and there's always an excuse why its not sent when I email them every few months.

They constantly sent emails advertising new items, but never delivered the one and only item I ordered 10 months ago!

Now they have gone into administration, which is no surprise, so hoping to get a refund at some point. I would recommend everyone requests a refund for their items before its too late!

I like how they only reply to the positive reviews, but ignore the complaints...

Order cancelled for no reason

Ordered football shorts from Lovell Soccer, order went through and then an our later received an email to say order was cancelled, as out of stock!
So it was in stock when I ordered it, but then they decide after purchase that its not. No explanation, no reply to emails. Avoid.

No one ever answers or responds - waste of time!

My wife has been a paying member of GMB for quite some time, but when trying to get hold of them for some advice in this climate they dont ever answer their phones or respond to emails or tweets. Nothing. No answers and no response.
A waste of time paying for membership when there is no one to help. Her friend belongs to a different union who have have been very helpful and always respond. Disgraceful.
