I purchased Zao black mascara

Disappointed - this is not a 'cheap bargain' mascara.
I always clean my face of make up at night before going to bed, but with the best will in the world, there is sometimes a little bit of mascara that gets left behind. I try to be gentle with cleaning around my eyes, so I am certainly not prepared to be more vigorous. Still, I ended up with stains remaining on my pillow case after washing - when they usually come out immediately when I use other mascara brands. I have to hope they will come out in the next wash.

I love the designs. I find the fit for me is excellent, but sometimes the fabric for ladies’ wear is not always as I would like, otherwise I would give 5 stars. Still, returns are free if not happy. Delivery is not, however, so that money may be wasted.

However, for menswear the fabrics are great, in our experience. A couple of times, I have accepted items that in hindsight, I wish I had returned because of the fabric. In future, I will return all such items, because I think Joe Browns need to get the message regarding quality. If they can provide it for men, they can do so for women. If they continue to go downhill with fabrics, I will revise the 4 stars.

Customer service on the phone is super, very helpful, efficient and professional. An asset to the company, I am sure.

Some reviewers on here are concerned about cancelled payments showing up in banking. I can confirm from experience that this happens on the banking side but no payment is taken. If you are concerned about it you can call customer service who will chat with accounts on your behalf. This was my experience. Since then I don’t worry about non-processed payments due to web glitches.

I ordered a couple of patterns (well known brands) and a few bits and pieces. Great prices and very efficient delivery. Will be happy to order on line again when needed.

I switched to this service from Google and Bing before Christmas 2020 because I was concerned about increasing power of those 2 organisations.
I feel I have given it a fair chance - it's now February, and will now switch back. Why?

This is because I believe their search algorithm to be flawed and giving poor results.

I know this as a person with a well established website about a specific area of expertise I have built over many years, I share this information for free with visitors.
I have found:

- Duck Duck go do not penalise pages that simply copy and paste from other websites. I have experience of this - a website with a non-related subject literally copying my page for the sake of a search phrase. Well it worked! They ranked above me for my own content - actually at the top! You may not think this would matter, but how is this fair, and why should I be encouraged to continue with my labour? I earn my living online, and to steal content is to steal my income. Google would penalise such activity, and there is a mechanism to report it.

There is no-one to report this to at Duck Duck Go - and certainly not privately. How would you feel if it were you?

- Again, on a similar note, they claim that reputation built via links is vital for search. However, this is not true in my experience. Example - a new website that has merely 2 links and has again curated my work (with no experience themselves in the subject) ranks above me, whilst my page is not even on the second of their search results. In addition, the rest of the results are utterly poor, with links to pages not properly hosted and small badly written text, and poor layout. Yes, as well as providing content based on my genuine expertise, I do understand how to lay out a page for readers.

As a result of all this, I do not trust this search engine - the quality of the results is often very poor in my view.

I wanted to switch, but forget it - not when they operate like this.

I started buying from Field and Flower just before lockdown in March 2020, and have been very pleased. I order one delivery per month and leave it at that.

You can get all the basics, like chicken drumsticks, minced beef and a pork joint, but there are also fabulous chef prepared sous-vide items too.

There is a big difference in quality and welfare standards between Field and Flower meat, in comparison with what you would buy at the supermarket. No desire to go back to supermarket meat now! Excellent quality, genuinely free range and supporting British farmers.

The whole free-range chickens are excellent value, and a million miles from supermarket free range! A small chicken is very meaty and we easily get 3 meals out of it. Plus there are giblets, including chicken livers if you want to make pate, or provide a nutritious snack for your dog.
I can also recommend the lemon chicken, paprika chicken and their herby sous vide prepared half chickens.

The beef top rump joint is excellent in quality - and actually a comparable price with Tesco! The beef mince is lovely and perfect for Beef Cobbler etc.
The duck legs are delicious cooked with red wine, mushrooms, herbs (juniper berries etc), stock, smoked bacon and garlic to make a lovely rich gravy.
Pork joint is also great, the harissa pulled pork is perfect. Lamb is beautiful.

Game casserole mix and diced venison also very nice.

We like to buy beef bones for stock, and portion them up in the freezer. Once boiled up the bones are put out for our local visiting wildlife (our dog would have loved a gnaw at some of them, if he was still with us).

It works out cheaper to purchase 3 packs of certain items according to the offers.
All of my deliveries have been on time.

I am looking forward to my 2022 Christmas order, which is packed full of special treats, like:

- Loin of Pork with Apple & Calvados
- Ginger spiced pork belly
-Mulled Spiced Duck Leg Confit

I could go on!! Stuffed turkey and turkey parcels etc are also on offer. Fabulous!
