I signed up with Irish life health

I signed up with Irish life health . Subsequently found out……not actually told on initial sign up that I needed confirmation of cover from previous health provider. Fair enough, but this is my first change. Got that, posted it and then checked with them re. Procedure cover to be informed that my cover had ended in 2019. Letter definitely stated 2024. I had the original email. They wouldn’t have it so I sent the pdf of cover requesting a phone call to confirm they had received it. Didn’t get it.i was in the process of booking a medical procedure which is difficult enough. When I rang they suggested using ‘Here to help’ a painful process as the fields are not well set and do not show ALL consultants or ALL hospitals. I spent ages trying to input my doctor and hospital. Talking to any of the staff is like dealing with the prosecution service in a courtroom. Quoting various tracts af legalities. Do they realise they’re dealing with humans who may have an illness and are trying to check cover. The last advice was to check with the consultant that it was medically necessary to have the procedure. That was the final straw. My doctor recommended I have this procedure but Irish life health are unsure. Seriously! Wish I’d stayed with previous provider but I will be moving again ASAP.

One star too far

One star too far. Unbelievably poor service. Paid money for car insurance 30th April. Received no email to confirm payment. 3 lengthy phone calls later with many promises to confirm. Nothing. Then still getting reminders to renew insurance. Nightmare. Finally emailed and received email on 15th May to confirm payment.... 5 days after insurance was out of day. Received documents a day later. 🤣

I've had AA membership for years

I've had AA membership for years. Only used the service once.I also have car insurance and travel insurance with the AA.
My new membership this year was over 100% increase on last year's quote so I rang to see if I could get a better offer. I hadn't realised that for the past 3 years, unless,I am actually driving the car myself, it would not be covered for break down assistance etc.
Very disappointed as I can't see that another family member especially, those also covered by my AA insurance policy would not be covered. Needless to add I've dropped the policy.

Hi Carina, we send out renewal documents 4 weeks in advance each year. This is so Members can check the cover and see if it still suits their needs. We're sorry to hear you've since cancelled your cover.
