Great Product Awful Service
We ordered a Swoon corner sofa from John Lewis. The sofa is 5 star, well done Swoon however the service from JL has probably been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever suffered.
I suppose we should have known what to expect when my wife called the telephone number to book the delivery. The woman was extremely unhelpful, rude and said someone would call us back to book. 4pm on a Friday must have been home time for the operative. No call came. We called back on Monday evening, delivery booked no call back required.
The main issue centred with the delivery, as it’s a corner sofa there are 3 parts. On Monday 17th Oct JL only arrived with only one part. Whilst the delivery crew we apologetic to my wife, they were adamant it was Swoons fault, they haven’t sent it, it’s definitely not in the warehouse.
After chasing it up we received an email to say it was in the warehouse and would be delivered 5-7pm on Wednesday.
Noting here my wife is a Midwife in the middle of doing 4 night shifts. We accepted she would have to get up to accept the delivery but the stress caused trying to find out where the other parts of the sofa are, was unacceptable. She only did half a night shift on the night which followed due to exhaustion.
Tue 18th - we get an email asking us to call back; I called back and I’m asked if the final parts have been received and I’m now happy with our new sofa…erm sorry pardon, it’s due to be delivered tomorrow (Wed) 5-7pm. Oh right sorry sir, call ends.
Wed 19th - the exact same scenario repeats; email, call back, have you received your missing parts and are you happy with the sofa. At this point it’s 3pm ish…erm it’s due to be delivered tonight 5-7pm? Oh sorry sir that’s everything then.
Much to my surprise the sofa turned up at 6.30pm. The delivery guys were great but unfortunately there were two legs missing.
My frustration here is that I’ve had to chase JL to get answers and progress. There’s no continuity and no one taking responsibility for the issues to see it through to its conclusion. Call backs were promised but unfortunately never came.
Swoon promptly sent the replacement legs directly to us in a matter of days. It’s that easy!!
Only on Thursday 3 Nov have I had an apology and resolved the issue with JL. Obviously I had to call them.
