Ohme / Volvo offer

Ohme charger installed as part of an EV offer from Volvo (EX30).
The Ohme part of the deal was processed well and plenty of information available both online and via email.
Installation was subcontracted to pro⚡️ev. I’m very happy with that part of the process. Installation was completed by Paul who was punctual, polite, professional, personable and very tidy! Thank you

Ohme / Volvo scheme

Introduced to Ohme through a Volvo incentive scheme. Volvo I felt were a bit too business focused rather than customer focused. This meant that the order / installation process didn’t start till after I had taken delivery of the car.

Ohme (Archie) on the other hand have been positive and definitely customer focused in their approach. While installation is still a few days away it feels that a significant amount of progress has been made in 24 hours. My thanks to them and look forward to moving on to the final stage.

While it is nice to have an opportunity…

While it is nice to have an opportunity to express an opinion I do find You Gov surveys are often very ambiguous in how the questions are framed. For example better defining of ‘good’ when asking whether someone is doing a ‘good’ job.

The rewards are nothing to get excited about either. I recently tried to redeem 5000 points and was given a card denominated in US$ which isn’t being accepted here in the U.K.

Top work all round

Top work all round. Order placed with the supplier in Edinburgh (250 miles away from me) for a replacement valve on 08/04/2025. Paid a supplement for next day delivery.
Tracking advices arrived overnight and, as advised by DPD the item was delivered by midday.
The household project is back on track - thanks Shower Doctor and DPD.

Software update - good experience and outcome

Things change and sometimes software updates don’t get applied quite as you’d like them to. This is where an effective and pragmatic help desk is needed and demonstrates the difference between a customer focused organisation and those that simply want your money.

In my case a small update to my Fly 12 Sport was needed. Roger at Cycliq quickly identified the issue and provided clear step by step instructions as to what was needed. Problem solved, thank you.

And to cap it all the issue was addressed so promptly that the different time zones (U.K. to WA) was not a problem.

Power Pause Baseline calculation

Had a query as to how the baseline consumption figure had been calculated for the Power Pause events. Very prompt and comprehensive response provided by Gina for which I was grateful albeit the answer wasn't quite what I expected!

However, this review is about the service rather than the product and I'm very satisfied with how this was handled.

Calendars and templates set up in previous years have been 'remembered' by photobox. This is great as I am able to apply the same process and simply update the pictures.

Trailblazer 3 waist strap

Rating further revised upwards this time to 3 star. I have used the pack for walking and the performance was much closer to that as advertised. In particular the waist straps stayed (mostly) in place which meant I wasn't having to routinely retighten them.
Indeed the overall performance was almost as described in Montane's product description. However, it is described there as a 'body hugging running pack' while my experience is that it isn't that great for running but is much better for walking.

Rating revised downwards to 1 star following another run (2 hours) where I needed to retighten the strap every two - three minutes. Sorry Montane - this is not what I expected from a product described as having a 'secure and stable fit'. I'll need to resort to stitching the fastening in place which will mean it cannot be used on variable weather days (layers going on / coming off). I have other bags that are more reliable than this one.

Purchased as this was described as a 'body-hugging running pack with a secure and stable fit'.
It is certainly comfortable, well designed and made from good quality materials.
However I'd take issue with the 'secure and stable fit' as described by Montane (maybe not so well designed?) and am rating this as 3 stars. I have found that I am almost continually needing to tighten the waist strap while out running. The issue appears to be the central buckle doesn't hold the strap as securely as needed. The strap is also much longer than perhaps necessary.
Stitching the waist strap in place would limit its versatility but I may need to resort to that to prevent it continually slackening off.

Customer focussed and products. I now have five cameras spread across the family's bikes. They are straightforward to use and provide an extra layer of security that gives us confidence when out on the road. Have also been able to re-live amusing moments too!

Smart metering questions

Positive experience in relation to recent engagement with Good Energy regarding Smart Meter installation.

I will admit that I was initially unmoved by GE's overtures to adopt the new Smart Metering. However knowing that this is a government initiative rather than being led by GE I enquired further and was reassured as to the risks.
The process too for arranging the meter replacement was straightforward and now look forward to it taking place next month.

My thanks in particular to Roisin who understood my concerns and answered my questions patiently and with a touch of humour too. Good to feel that you are dealing with a real person rather than AI.

GE haven't always got it right I feel in responding to queries but this time I think they have. Maybe my feedback was being listened too after all!

2021 Calendars

Very pleased with the results of the two calendars that I ordered as Christmas presents in December 2020. I have used photobox.co.uk for several years now so have become used to how their processes work. They have evolved (and improved!) over time with the result this year being the first where I was able to complete the orders correctly first time. The system does appear to be clever enough to know what I ordered previously so that is the starting point for new orders.
Price was competitive, delivery was in line with that anticipated and the quality of the product was good. I'll be back next year.
