I have been a Tide free business…

I have been a Tide free business account customer since October 2024. The app works very well indeed and payments seem to go through on time.

However, last week I had to contact the bank to enquire about making a chaps payment in connection with a property purchase. And it’s been an absolute nightmare. The only way to contact them with this free service is via messages and the response can take several days for each question you ask. And each time I’ve been pumped off with half answers that do not resolve my questions.

It’s not possible to have a business relationship with a bank that won’t speak to their customers so I will not be staying with this bank.

If you simply want to use the bank via the app then it is a perfectly good service. But if you can imagine ever, even once, needing to contact them then forget it.

Poor communication

The engineer – Sam – was outstanding. But there was quite a lot of uncertainty about when the visit was going to take place and also you weren’t very clear about whether or not we would get a call before his arrival. This is a holiday rental property and it is simply not acceptable to think that people can hang about waiting all morning for an engineer to arrive. At the very least you should make it clear that a phone call will be made and how much time will be Available to get to the property to allow access. None of this is clear in your instructions. As it happens, the problem was with Sky. I’m very irritated at the thought that they should’ve known for well that the router was a source of the problem and simply replaced it to avoid all the messing about.

Hi Martin, sorry to see that the communications via your provider was not as good as expected in relation to your appointment, our engineers are only available either AM or PM, this is needed as each job they do is different and some can take a lot longer than others, the engineer should try to make contact as soon as they can to advise they are on their way, in some cases this would not be able to happen. I do understand the frustrations with waiting around for the engineer to turn up. ^Paul

Dreadful - first and last time

Paid online and via Amazon (return) then went to my local drop off in Hayle. They wouldn’t accept it because they already had a mountain of uncollected parcels. Drove 5 miles to another drop off. Same result. The staff agreed with the first shop that the service is awful and that they wouldn’t use it. Neither will I in future.

Accepted at third shop after another 5 mile drive.
