I have been a Tide free business account customer since October 2024. The app works very well indeed and payments seem to go through on time.
However, last week I had to contact the bank to enquire about making a chaps payment in connection with a property purchase. And it’s been an absolute nightmare. The only way to contact them with this free service is via messages and the response can take several days for each question you ask. And each time I’ve been pumped off with half answers that do not resolve my questions.
It’s not possible to have a business relationship with a bank that won’t speak to their customers so I will not be staying with this bank.
If you simply want to use the bank via the app then it is a perfectly good service. But if you can imagine ever, even once, needing to contact them then forget it.
