The Fairy Godfathers of Bike Theft

After having recently suffered a bike theft, my tracker installation was like being visited by a fairy godfather of bike security. I was informed of all the latest trends in bike theft and got some great advice on avoiding it in future. He is a man with a purpose and clearly passionate about combating bike theft by empowering Backpedal customers and raising awareness.

Julian was completely tooled up, there was nothing he didn't have to hand to complete the task - multimeter, soldering iron, drill, I was really impressed.

When it came to hiding the trackers - he's a creative genius, he hid mine in a place that I would never have thought of and somewhere I'm completely confident that thieves will miss. He took into account the way I use the bike and the precautions I take to make the correct placement.

I was left feeling completely over the moon that I chose Backpedal, confident that my bike is as well protected as it can be (after investing in a Diamond rated lock).
Julian was absolutely amazing. Thank you.

I just received an unsolicited call from Blockchain who tried to convince me that they are a reputable company (and not a scam). A quick search while I had them on the phone brought me to these reviews for which I'm extremely grateful. If it's any consolation, you're stopping people like me suffering a similar fate - thank you!

Style over substance

I was attracted by the slick interface but realised very quickly that this platform does not compete with Followerwonk in terms of functionality. The bio 'smart' search is missing the boolean operator OR, so you'll use your 10 search credits very quickly.
If you create a list from the search results, you can only find the list on Twitter, there's no ability to follow/unfollow from your list within the Circleboom platform. When I tried it only added 9 of 300 accounts I selected from the results, to the list.
The search results don't sort properly plus there's no 'influence score' allowing you to follow the most influential accounts.
In this way, the platform feels very buggy. Looks nice though.
So, if you're looking to grow your following, this isn't the tool to use - although it might be good on the publishing side which I haven't looked at.

Drivers routinely skip deliveries

Drivers routinely skip deliveries

I receive a dozen notifications that my delivery is arriving, when it's just a few minutes away I'm waiting at the door only to receive a notification that no-one was in and I have to collect the next day.

DPD know this happens but say they can't contact the driver or ask them to deliver - which is why drivers feel they can get away with it - this is a company that doesn't care about the recipient.

My heart sinks when I order something and find out that DPD - specifically "Syed" will be handling the 'delivery'

What an amazing experience

What an amazing experience, it’s like magic compared to conventional car rental. The Tesla was delivered, I was notified in the app, my phone became the key and we were away in minutes. From a central London address, this is the most cost effective option for renting a car.
I can’t wait to do it again, I just need an excuse..

A platform that has fallen behind the times

Avoid this platform, don't even consider it! In 2022, you're better off with the free version of Mailchimp.

I've worked with four companies that made the mistake of signing up with DotDigital.

It had promise a long long time ago, if you were on Salesforce and looking for integration with an email platform.

It could have been something if this company had continued to invest in the development of their product, however it hasn't changed at all in years. The only updates they've made have been cosmetic - the logo, fonts and colour scheme - to try and make it 'look more modern'. Fundamentally, it's the same platform it was 5 years ago - this is a very long time in digital marketing.

Instead of developing their product they've been growing an overly aggressive sales team that wildly overpromise and then massively overcharge you on a watertight contract that ties you in for two years.

Then you haven't just got the cost of the licence to bear, but the 'opportunity cost' of not making the money you would have made if this platform had lived up to the promises, or you'd chosen another platform that fulfils those promises at a fraction of the cost.

Look at how DotDigital posted record profits last year and yet at the same time their share price is tumbling - savvy investors know that this platform is going nowhere.

DD is not even compatible with Google Tag Manager. They don't seem to care either. Their ROI script is poorly programmed and conflicts with just about any other script you might be running. The platform is growing increasingly inaccurate with data privacy changes. DD has completely dropped the ball with iOS 15, MPP and the death of 3rd party cookies.

They think they can impress you with a pretty drag and drop automation builder - really, you just want something that works without a struggle. If you are struggling to build an automation flow from scratch (the only option) then they they'll have someone do it for you, of course it's an additional charge.

Other platforms like Klaviyo are light years ahead and offer a far more effective cost of ownership, integrate beautifully with other platforms and server side tagging environments with much more accurate audience segmentation & targeting. They also give you a tonne of useful pre-built email automation flows that you can easily clone, customise and deploy yourself at no extra charge.

I would strongly urge anyone who wants to grow their business online not to go near this company. All they want is your money, they're not interested in helping you to grow your business.

Great bike that's a nightmare to own if you live in UK

Been an owner for a few years now and I love the bike. It's great - until something goes wrong and you need replacement parts. Then you'll regret owning the bike. Particularly if you live in the UK. Need a new inner tube or tyre? Some replacement spokes? Need to replace the kickstand, again? You're in trouble. All the parts are non standard - you have to order from them.
But they're always out of stock. When they come back in stock, they disappear again quickly - it'll take at least a couple of months for the parcel to despatch. You'll need to stock multiple replacement parts if you want to keep your bike on the road. Otherwise, expect to leave it in storage for at least a few months, every few months.

Fantastic customer service

Fantastic customer service. I ordered a subwoofer and XLR cables but I chose the cables for lighting rather than sound. I received a quick call from them to check whether I had intended to order lighting cables, and they were swapped for the audio cables I actually needed. I thought that was great - they could have picked, packed and shipped what I ordered but took the time and effort to make sure I got what I needed. That level of customer care makes them worthy of the title of this review in my view, highly recommended.
