Shocking

Shocking. How does anyone even manage to communicate with a human at O2? Just finding a phone number to call is impossible. Using the chat bot is a waste of time, it doesn't understand anything. If your phone SIM is locked and you need help unlocking, the whole process becomes a nightmare, going round in circles, being told to use the app - how can I use the app if my phone is locked?

Where's my stuff

Where's my stuff? I'm waiting for a package which was sent 5 days ago on a tracked 48 service. From the tracking I can see it sat at the Midlands super hub for 5 days going nowhere. It's now moved to the jubilee mailing centre. How long will it sit there, I wonder? This package is the broadband kit for my new house. By the time it arrives (at my current address) I will have moved out.

O2 down again

Since February, the service (calls and data) in my area has been really poor due to issues with a local mast. Each time I report a problem, I'm assured that O2 are "...working hard to fix the problem", but their fixes don't last long. I need to find a more reliable mobile provider.

Beware the end of lease hidden charges!

Similar to another recent review, my XC40 reached the end of its 3-year subscription today. The car has covered less than 15,000 miles and is immaculate, except for a 3mm chip in the edge of one alloy wheel. They now want to charge me in excess of £500 for a new wheel! This is reasonable wear & tear in my view. I will never lease from Volvo again.

Scam, avoid

My wife booked a hotel through Agoda, paid with her credit card and everything looked good, except there was no immediate confirmation email. A few minutes later, an email arrived from Agoda cancelling the booking. When she went back to the website to try and rebook, the price had gone up by nearly 20%. To make matters worse, the transaction is still showing pending on her credit card, which impacts her available credit.

Where are my stolen points?

My points were stolen 3 weeks ago, all points redeemed in Argos while I was on holiday. I was issued with a new card and told my stolen points would be refunded on to it. The new card arrived quickly, but not the points, so I chased. It seems I'm at the back of a VERY long queue because so many people have the same problem. I hope I get my points back before Christmas ...
@Sainsburys/Argos: you really need to fix your systems and processes to make stealing Nectar points a little bit harder.

Octopus (no) Go

Over 3+ years with Octopus, I've mostly excellent service but in August they messed up a change to the Octopus Go tariff big time, which I complained about. The complaint has now been closed, but with no explanation or apology. Although my bill seems to have been adjusted, there's no way for me to check whether the adjustment is correct or not. They sent an email which simply read: "your complaint has now been closed". Ridiculous.

UPDATE: @Andrew, the complaint was raised on my behalf by Octopus, I have no control over what was in the complaint. Yes, it started from a conversation about why I'd been excluded from the free electricity sessions, but the reason for the exclusion was most likely that my tariff change had not been done correctly, hence I didn't qualify?

Beware the import charges

Beware the import charges. Although I was aware import charges may be due, being hit with a €40+ overdue demand out of the blue was a surprise (and at first looked like a scam). The way in which the charges are collected by the carrier Fedex Express (TNT) is a nightmare and communicating with TNT seems impossible - phone numbers don't work, emails go un-answered, which increases the scam concern. You are not the account holder, so you cannot speak to TNT.

Terrible website, missing order

The website is shockingly bad, especially on a mobile. Each time you click on something, every component of the page refreshes and downloads again, which means it takes forever to do anything. And, if you have the patience to actually place an order, don't expect anything to arrive any time soon. It's no surprise that 80% of reviewers give just 1 star. I placed an order and my credit card was charged, but I received no confirmation. A day later when I checked my boots.com account, there was no sign of the order. I want my money back!
I've now placed an order with Superdrug instead.

Terrible web renewals process

Renewing and amending cover online is an absolute joke, you cannot amend the cover so either have to stick with what you've got, cancel the policy or phone. I ended up calling, navigating my way through their terrible IVR menus, and finally spoke to a human (who by the way was brilliant 5 stars for her performance). In 2023 it shouldn't be like this.

Worst kind of customer care

Worst kind of customer care where I'm being bounced between Volvo Care and the local dealer to try and resolve a problem with my leased XC40 Recharge. Volvo Care say speak to the dealer; dealer wants £198 to do a diagnostic check even though I explained it's a car I lease directly from Volvo - it's Volvo who own the car, not me. This is really frustrating.

Not next business day collection?

Ordered yesterday (Friday) for next "business" day collection at my local store. The store is open for business 7 days a week, so I would expect to be able to pick up on the following day (Saturday). Apparently not. Won't be in until Monday (maybe). Nowhere in the T&Cs do Toolstation define what they mean by business day, but if you're open for business, it's a business day!

Shocking delivery service from Evri, terrible customer service from John Lewis

My JL order has been despatched in two halves via Evri. First half arrived with packaging ripped open and box inside opened and repacked. I have no idea if any bits are missing. The second half has been with Evri since last week, according to the tracking, no sign of it being delivered anytime soon. Contacted customer service via the web chat, was rudely cut off and told to login to my account to contact them, but their web chat is exactly the same whether you're logged in or not! So I logged in only to find the web chat is now unavailable. This seems to be a common customer service tactic with many companies - 30 mins before their shift ends and they either don't answer or cut you off.

UPDATE: After wasting more time chasing this I discovered the damaged item cannot be re-delivered because it is now out of stock and on back order, although nobody had bothered to tell me.

Waste of time

I asked Clearscore to request correction of incorrect information provided by a lender, which was affecting my credit score. I provided all the evidence Clearscore needed. I received a generic response which basically told me to take up my complaint with the lender then wait 5 weeks to see if my credit report is corrected. No use to me whatsoever.

UPDATE: It seems Clearscore do not operate in the same way as Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, so there is no point in me trying to raise a dispute with them. At the time of my review, Clearscore were the only company showing a problem on my credit report, which is why I contacted them to get it resolved.

Forever on hold

Each time I try to call Aviva, I spend hours on hold listening to stupid messages about how I can manage my pension online. I know I can do some basic things online, like check my fund values, but for less routine stuff it has to be a call (I can't even change my address online). Earlier today, after waiting for ages, I was given the option for a callback. About an hour later, someone called me, but then told me I had to speak to another team. I was transferred, only to hear more hold music and generic IVR messages before the call was dropped. Start again at that back of the queue or take my business elsewhere?
