Hi Louise,
Based on information recorded on our system, you instructed with us at the end of May 2024, and your transaction fell through mid June of 2024, based on a call made to our Support team. You got in touch with us at the time and you were informed that the initial funds are held on account and you can use these to instruct on a new property.
The no move no legal fee, is specifically in relation to the legal costs for the transaction should this fall through before completion, you were not charged abortive fees by the firm who took on your file. This is what the guarantee protects you against should your deal fall through, as per our Terms and Conditions.
The initial fee paid to us is to cover the benefits of instructing through us, including access to our support team for the duration of your transaction, setting up the files as well as the ID and AML checks to get the transaction underway.
We note that this is not the first transaction you have instructed through us either. After completing on your previous transaction you returned to us asking us to refund the money taken by our team because we did not do the legal work. The fees taken by Home Legal Direct do not contribute to the Legal Fees and are rather our administrative portion of the quote itself. Our services allow clients to benefit from significantly reduced costs for conveyancing transactions.
Whilst we appreciate you are unhappy, you contacted Home Legal Direct after more than a year had lapsed since your instruction asking for a refund which you are not entitled to, however you are still able to take advantage of the same offer provided to all of our clients, whereby you can instruct on a new property, carrying the initial fees over toward that transaction.
