Disappointing slow claims process after a stroke ( 7 months and still no decision)
At the age of 60 I have had considerable experience dealing with a wide variety of different insurance products and companies.
Vitality is without doubt the worst experience I had.
I suffered a stroke in March 2025. This is a significant life event and it’s reasonable to hope that a policy defined as ‘ accelerated serious illness’ should make the claims process speedy and as straightforward as possible and not keep a policy holder waiting for a decision. Interestingly Vitality continues to take premiums during this time. I have never been declined an insurance claim as I always provide honest information as I recall when making an initial application. All the various advisors I’ve dealt with are polite and friendly to deal with but the claims process itself is completely unacceptable and an exercise of ‘virtual signalling’
Routine emails caption that vitality is here to support policy holders but when it comes to actual support there is none at all.
My experience has been very distressing.
