Any fee linked to a booking is stated at point of purchase. There are no hidden extras and we are 100% up front with these so you know exactly what the total cost will be.

Breathtakingly Bad

If you set out to design an energy company with horrible customer service, opaque billing and just general incompetence all round, you
might get something approaching as bad as this lot. But you’d struggle.

Easy to buy

Easy to buy. But why would an insurance company ask me for a review when it’s the only interaction with them I’ve had? If I’m unlucky enough to need them to pay out is when I’ll know if they are any good.

Edit - upgraded to 3 on basis of reasonable response, but still think an insurance company review should be based on claims not purchase experience.

Convenient for last minute travel

Convenient for last minute travel, but outrageously poor exchange rate. Thankfully used the buy-back service as I worked out it’s cheaper to use card even with the charges.

Thank you for your review and I’m sorry to hear about your experience - I know how you must feel when you’re not happy with the rate you receive.

All our branches try and be as competitive as they can, but we charge different rates because our costs are higher/lower depending on where the branch is. Typically we have very high rent, insurance and cash supply costs, particularly in tourist areas and high costs security areas like airports and travel hubs. This is also why other shops in those places charge more - it’s more expensive to ‘be there’ to provide a convenient service.

It’s unlikely there will be a change to the cost of operating at airports in the near future, but we believe currency shouldn’t be complicated, and everyone should have access to the best possible rates.

While we offer services in convenient airport locations, we always encourage people to buy their currency in advance to avoid these extra charges. You can order from us online and get cash delivered to your door – you’ll find our rates are better online than in branch as our costs are much lower. You can also do click & collect if there’s a branch near you that’s easier to collect from.

I hope this helps explain why we weren’t able to give you a better rate at Luton airport.

Very competitive tariffs BUT...

Very competitive tariffs. But balanced by just about the worst customer service I've ever experienced in this or any other sector. From incorrect usage quotes (after 12 months as a customer) that ended me being put on the wrong tariff, a 6 month delay for installing my smart meter and then forgetting to link it to the account, the list goes on and. Even typing this is reminding me of how much time I've spent on this lamentable company. To be fair I have been compensated, but frankly I'd rather have something approaching reasonable efficiency.
