Beautiful combinations of colorful

Beautiful combinations of colorful, fresh flowers. I send them regularly to my mum, 95 in a few days' time and in a fairly advanced stage of dementia. She loves them as they cheer up her room and life. She thinks they're from my dad, dead for twenty years now. Flowers have such strong memories attached.

So glad we changed to Cuckoo

I was with my previous provider for 40 years, but our Internet service was terrible, and some of the people I had to deal with getting it improved were unhelpful or pretended to lose mobile signal as their shift end approached.

The people at Cuckoo have been so helpful, delivered what they promised, and communicated the installation process clearly.

The engineers who installed the Internet were efficient, and left our house so clean you wouldn't know they had been there.

Best of all, the Internet actually works! Result!

A safe pair of hands

This is the second property we have had Sidey windows installed in. The reasons we use Sidey are:
The salesman actually understands and is very knowledgeable about his products. This is quite rare these days.
The same is true of the technical engineer who comes out to your property pre-instillation
Uta and her admin team could not be more helpful and manage the communications side of the process really well
In the instillation crew there was a true craftsman. It was a pleasure discussing the best way forward and watching the precision with which he fitted the windows.
The guarantee is cast- iron good.

Sidey are not the cheapest company. However, if you are looking for a headache-free process, you are in safe hands with Sidey.

I can't thank them enough. They exceeded our expectations. How often can you say that these days?

A good place to get your eyes tested

I recently purchased a couple of pairs of glasses from Specsavers. The optician was excellent. I was particularly grateful to him for checking the test results very carefully as I had some episodes of visual disturbance last year. He was warmly reassuring.

The other experience that stands out was collecting the glasses and having them fitted. The assistant was very careful to fit the glasses well, altering them a couple of times to ensure they were comfortable to wear. She chatted as she did this, making the experience a pleasant one.

Review of Kennel Club Pet Insurance

Our puppy fell ill days after picking…

Our puppy fell ill days after picking her up from the breeder, so we were covered by the initial 5-week policy. Our puppy ended up in pet A&E overnight, which cost us £1000+.

The staff of the Kennel Club Insurance could not have been more helpful in talking us through all the options when converting to an annual policy and were also very helpful in explaining how to make a claim when the A&E vet administrator refused to make it, which would be the usual procedure.

Very kind, clear and helpful communication. Excellent experience so far.

Review of Roots Plants

Poor customer service

I ordered a plant and a number of trees from Roots along with some micorhizal powder to plant them. There was a delay on the trees, but I was kept informed of this. However, more than 6 weeks after the trees were delivered, the planting powder STILL hasn't been delivered. When I enquired about this, the lack of customer service was shocking. I received a standard form email with no ETA. And no apology. According to the carriers, the planting powder is awaiting collection. If the problem lies with the carriers, Roots needs to sort their carrier out. It simply isn't good enough to pass the buck to the carriers, as is the case in some other reviews.

I can see it was dispatched from the nursery prior to the Christmas break, so I do apologise that this was not received. Poor customer service

One part of my order is still outstanding months after the order was placed. Frustratingly, the missing item is the fertiliser I purchased at the same time as a number of trees. I have now been waiting over six weeks to plant the trees.

To add insult to injury, when I emailed to ask when the fertiliser would be delivered, I received a long standard form reply with two glaring omissions: an apology or the estimated date of delivery. Very poor customer service.

What a lovely team of people!

What a lovely team of people! We needed to bring our 8-week-old puppy in for emergency overnight care. The vet (Susannah?) Looked after Oy so well. She delivered the warning that there was a risk of death in a compassionate way, talked us through the financial options and kept us informed overnight of Oy's progress. A wonderful haven in anxious times. Thank you.

Review of Helping Hands Home Care

Great Care

Helping Hands have been providing care visits to my mother for over 3 years and overall, the level of care has been excellent. As my mother lives on her own and has dementia, these visits are a lifeline, allowing her to stay in her home, which is something she very much wishes to do.

My mother has a regular carer, who is outstanding. She has built a strong rapport with my mother, and is skilled at humouring her out of difficult moments.

As my mother's dementia has advanced, the office team have helped us adapt the care plan to meet her changing needs and keep her safe. They contact us quickly if there is an urgent issue we need to deal with.

I can't recommend Helping Hands highly enough.

A great shopping experience

I had a lovely surprise when I arrived at the till: the plants which were labelled £14.99 were actually less than £5 each. Thank you for the amazing sale discounts :-)

The barcodes were missing on one other item that I was purchasing and it took some time to locate the code. The lady at the till was lovely, engaging me in lively chat and reassuring me that it was ok to hold up the queue in the circumstances.

I have to say, the staff at this branch of Dobbies have never failed to be anything but kind, helpful and informative. It is always a treat to visit this garden centre. Customers are in good hands.
