Terrible customer experience end to end

After placing an order for firewood (300kg trolley bags) on 2 January which has still not arrived. From Rathwood website for my delivery method: “This is our standard delivery method for pallet orders. Your order will be delivered within 3 - 5 working days after your order is received.” After following up today, delivery gets scheduled for next week - 17 working days from order.

Rathwood admitts that they made a mistake and stock has been available for delivery since order being placed.

When I asked for some sort of compensation, management firstly refused anything (I’ve been buying wood from the supermarket for 2 weeks at 8.95€ a day) and then came back with a 10% voucher on next purchase - 18€ off another order that takes 3 weeks to deliver putting me out of pocket by the value of my order?! This is the second order I’ve placed with them and the first also took c. 3 weeks due to fulfilment issues, for which I got 6 additional bags of kiln dried wood.

To even think I’d order from you again is insulting. I expect the refund for the cancelled order as per conversations with your associates.

DO NOT USE - extortionists and crooks!

I specifically purchased from a .ie website on 15/12/2021 in order to get prompt delivery and overlooked the 6.99€ delivery charge for a meagre 12€ (incl. VAT!) purchase. And then, last Thursday, An Post gets onto me with a customs VAT charge and a handling fee of an additional €6.27. So now I am paying more that the value of my original purchase in VAT, service fees and postage - which is now outstanding 1 month and 3 days! I could have gotten a return taxi to the Co-Op for less.

Update: After chatting with the company - very dismissive. They're trying to say that they're not in the wrong. I went through the checkout workflow and noticed that it clearly states that IE VAT has been charged to the order. Now, silence on their part. I would encourage anyone who has been crooked by these con artists to lodge complaints with ECC, CCPC, Revenue, Customs and HMRS.

02/02/2022 - Update: after much up-and-down, eSpares have decided to refund me (28/01/2022) which I am still awaiting - 5-7 working days they say - between 3 & 8 Feb, I should have the refund. I did however need to lodge reports with HMRC and ECC Ireland.

Absolutely shocking!

Absolutely shocking. The fact that I ordered a week ago and my order was still pending despite paying for it is unacceptable. Add too that the 45 minute wait to get through to rather disagreeable customer service representatives who cannot give you so much as an estimate as to how long it will take? Furthermore, there’s a possibility that the items would be held for customs!?!? I’m sorry. I requested a refund and will never so much as look at Currys website ever again. I’m appalled. Let’s hope they refund fast as they cash in!

No response and no items delivered.

I have been waiting for my order which is to be delivered between 13 & 25 November. I see when logging in now that the order has yet to be sent. I have contacted customer support on several occasions with no response as I wanted to amend the order if at all possible. If I do not get a reply I will be filing for a chargeback!

Update, after this review, I was quickly contacted by MyFaktory and the chair has been delivered. Customer service has been great despite total silence in the beginning.
