Review of Econic Energy

Highly recommended for heat pump installation and more!

We were lucky enough to find Econic Energy after searching high and low for a good heat pump installer. We had been let down by another company and also had decided that Octopus's heat pump, whilst cheap, they would not cope with the complexity of the installation and the pump would be under-specified and wouldn't save us money on bills.

To sum up our experience with Econic:
- Highly professional throughout.
- Experienced and skilled staff
- End-to-end process management - expertly managed and overseen by Christoph, with Pradeep (chief engineer), Andrew (expert assessor for EPC and heat loss survey) and Jay (who led installation team) all demonstrating they really know how to do this well.
Communication excellent throughout.
Trustworthy - MCS certified as well as Trustmark approved - we trusted them to get it right, and they proved their worth.

Our house isn't that well-insulated (we've done our best within reason), but after a formal home assessment (including an EPC certificate and a very efficient and comprehensive visit/heat loss survey by Andrew with a full report which was shared with us), we found we could have a Samsung 12kW heat pump. They also recommended replacing 6 radiators (less than we originally thought, which saved us money), an old, horizontal hot water cylinder (which they managed beautifully) as well as a 10kW battery - and their careful assessment helped assure us that the installation would be worthwhile - both for sustainability reasons but also financially.
We booked an install date for exactly when we wanted (and they gave us a date that was within 2 months!), and on days 1-5, the installation team turned up promptly at around 8am and were polite, thoughtful, efficient and tidied up after themselves. Jay and his team always did what was right, even if it meant they had to go the extra mile/spend a little bit longer, and the pipework is all beautifully neat and tucked away/insulated etc.
We had to have a small hiccup fixed with the battery integration - but Christoph and the electrician, Ramin, helped ensure it was sorted within a few days.

Although clearly a growing company, they have a personal touch, including responsive emails / telephone calls from Christoph and site visits by chief engineer Pradeep, before (for free, before we even committed to anything...), during the build process and after for an excellent handover in person.

Very happy with our gas-free hot water, the battery is charging brilliantly on a cheap Octopus night-time tariff and from the solar, and the heat pump is really really quiet (and gives quite a nice cool breeze when the weather is hot outside and it's heating our water!).... We also love the Fox and Homely apps, and are already seeing a significant drop in our energy bills - almost all our energy is on a cheap 7p/kWh tariff for summer (with 15p per kWh export tariff too), and in colder months we will switch to Octopus Cosy which will have three cheap times spread through day and night as our electricity use will rise.
Looking forward to a warm and cosy winter, with our new heat pump system! Thanks to Econic Energy... I can't recommend them highly enough. Happy to update after winter, but I have no qualms, as they really know what they're doing.

Great rug underlay and delivery experience

Great product, the thicknessness and quality of the rug underlay has made a real difference to the warmth of the room and is going to protect the rug much more than the previous thin stuff we had...it feels luxurious underfoot too, and doesn't slip on the wooden floor (we were worried about this, but with a large rug it's fine). It came in two large rolls and was easy to cut to size, we used some tape to stick the pieces together. Good value for money, I did some online searching before and was pleased I found and decided to use this company. Delivery was on time and as expected. Our first time using Rugs & Stuff... Would definitely recommend this seller to others!

Truly Excellent Cleaning!

I found Andreea after lots of looking for a better agency, and can't quite believe my good luck... Having had a difficult time with a previous agency, with lots of temporary cleaners and being let down repeatedly 👎I was keen to find a better agency.

When I did find Excellent Cleaning Solutions, I liked the good reviews, and within hours of calling her I got to meet the owner/manager Andreea 😁. It's always a good sign when the owner comes to assess a client before finding a suitable cleaner for them.... Andreea really knows how to clean a house (I have never seen anyone clean all the dust out of a radiator before, she has invented a way of doing this which is amazing!), and what's more, she has an impressive attitude about staff care... she clearly works hard to look after her group of reliable and trustworthy cleaners, ensuring they are well supported and paid, she is good at advising what products and kit make for a better, quicker clean and she has been communicating very well with me. Her enthusiasm and energy shine through... She came by herself to do the radiators, and then on another day came back with one of her cleaners, Florika... They did a blitz through the house, moving furniture, vacuuming, dusting and wiping surfaces down high and low, tidying as they went... the place is gleaming and importantly the air feels cleaner with less dust floating around. Although it is early days I am so pleased to have found my new local cleaning agency and a new regular local cleaner in Florika too. I would definitely recommend for a spring clean, and I'm confident they will also be a great regular cleaning service too. Thank you Andreea!

Great clothes care and repair company

Have been a happy user of their detergent and fabric conditioner for many years, which I think smell wonderful and no nasties, plus recyclable packaging... and now can add that their clothes repair service is also excellent. Quick response, reasonable quotes including P&P, and lovely results on my cashmere jumpers which had several holes in the front, both of which were beautifully and nearly invisibly repaired, including the striped one (tricky!), and they did an amazing job too on a loose knit cardigan sleeve which is a long time favourite. So much better than binning and replacing. Helpful and great service, with excellent email responsiveness too. Thank you Ellie!!

Great customer service, fantastic company

We've been with MyEnergi for a while, with a Zappi car charger and an Eddi hot water linked to our solar panels. Having recently noticed our devices hadn't been able to update to the latest firmware, and getting into trouble with our hub.. having tried myself to trouble shoot (with the excellent online material), but unsuccessfully, I called for help today and spoke to Tom, who was brilliant at step by step , without being too fast or slow, taking me through what was needed to reset the system, successfully link the devices again AND update the firmware!
What fantastic help and support, I can't recommend the company highly enough, and with especial thanks to Tom!

Loving our Phox V2 water filter!

Loving our Phox V2 water filter with the clean pack - already purchased our 1 year refill, after being blown away by how good it is. I have been looking for something like this for years...we live in London where the water is really hard. I hate single use plastic, so we don't normally use the usual brand of water filters, and our tap water filter under the sink never got the scum off our tea like this does! The main reason I bought it in the first place was I read it would save me from replacing our steam iron generator... and it did! The water is so pure it cleared out the limescale in it, and stopped it dripping all over the ironing. But now we wouldn't be without it for all our tea and cold drinks, which taste so much better now. Kettle clean too! My husband was sceptical, but he's also a complete convert....
Lastly, can I just say the customer service is outstanding, they helped me out with a small problem, and sorted it quickly, efficiently and sent me a free single filter refill within a couple of days. Thankyou Phox!

Tracy Bryant has been our wine advisor for years, I highly recommend her, and indeed using a wine advisor via the Sunday Times Wine club to get that extra special level of service (for free!). She is fantastic! Really wonderful to have someone who gets to know you, and what you (and your husband) like to drink, recommends new wines to try. Tracy is always responsive by phone and email, and helps to make sure our wines get delivered on time and safely, with no hesitation to do an exchange if there's anything we don't like or if something happens with the delivery (both very rare, but these things do happen sometimes, and it's the great response of the individual/ company that makes all the difference to reduce any stress). We also love the choice of wines, Charter Plus membership, and have availed ourselves of some really great special offers. Can't recommend the STWC and Tracy more highly.

Great products, fantastic customer service, useful videoss

I am doing more and more knitting, especially with lockdown. Found this site years ago, as it's about the only place that seems to make felt slipper soles, as well as some great slipper kits. I love to craft things, and have just received another order from them, as found their felt soles were excellent quality, and great range of colours, as well as extra sole options, including leather, leather like, vinyl and still my favourite, Vibram. The quality of the goods is great, but more than that, both times their customer service has been outstanding. Quick, responsive, and many loyal customers based on their helpful website reviews and my experience of them. Thanks Joe's Toes! Will be back to order again soon!

Great products...if and when they arrive

Great products.... When they arrive.
Greenhouse/coldframe was ordered in late Jan, with warning would be 6-8 weeks. After that time (early March), contacted Suttons to see what was happening, and told had been emailed to ask for my email address (!!) and phone number ..so they could pass onto delivery company, as high value item. I checked... No email at all from them about this, despite repeated promotion emails. Did this quickly, then got letter from manufacturers... Outlining delivery would be approximately 56 days! Turned out they had not received the order until first week of March, clearly Sutton had not even placed order til I chased. No solution offered, other than delivery in late April/early May (when we would no longer need it!!). Coir ordered and still not arrived. Seeds took more than 6 weeks to arrive, and came in small repeated batches. Plants advised would arrive last Monday- Wednesday, not dispatched til Friday, still not here.... Need I go on? We think it's such a shambles, which is a shame as the products are good if and when they get here (loved the Kaffir Lime tree)

Don't waste your time, offer cut on day

I went online to webuyanycar on three occasions over the summer/autumn to get a valuation on my car (10 years old, but in good condition) and was offered a valuation that actually went up(!). Should have known was too good to be true... Husband and I drove out nearly 40min to an appointment (no local appointments available at weekend), waited in car park for about half an hour as they were running late, only for the offer to be cut by almost half (from £4k to £2,200). Interesting that other customer also drove off after offer was too low so this isn't unique to me. Complete waste of our time. Staff member said online car valuation is based on pristine paintwork (for a 10yr old car!!). Also, non Covid safe hut for transaction, had to sit just half a metre from staff member. Do not recommend at all. I used Wizzle in the end...much better process and price.

Excellent service, easy to use, and good offer price

Excellent service, found through the AA website. I liked how easy it was to list my car, upload pictures simply and I got a reasonable offer from a top ten dealer the next working day. Wizzle got in touch as it was below my asking price, but were supportive of me waiting to see if other offers came through. The offer went up a little, and I took it. Handover was smooth, completely stress free and Covid safe outside my house with good dealer communications and again Wizzle contacting me to check I didn't need any support. Before I found Wizzle I used another commonly advertised car buying company which has huts in car parks who gave me a completely unrealistic offer online and then nearly halved that when I turned up for the appointment... I would choose and recommend Wizzle!!
