I was sent a honey with a very short expiry. I contacted Manuka Doctor and a replacement was sent out quickly. Very happy with the service I received.

Review of Halford
Generally had good experiences with Halfords, including with car services. Most recently an order disappeared within DPD system before finally turning up a very long time later. DPD were useless, and getting answers out of them on what was happening was impossible. But Halfords were great they processed a refund and even called to let me know
Review of Royal Mail
I got a notification at midday saying my parcel was out for delivery today, 7:30am to 7:30pm. I didn't leave the house. I got a message at 7:15pm saying the parcel couldn't be delivered as no-one was in. I expect he/she put that down as they were near the end of their round as there was definitely no attempt at delivery
Review of Openreach
Can't fault the service. They gave me an 8 until 1 booking period. I asked them if they come at the beginning of that time slot, they said they would try, and I was seen around 08:30. The engineer, Nick, was good, and my fault was repaired
Review of Metrolink
Terrible service. Constant delays and disruptions. Poor spacing of trams, so often have long waits. Anti-social behaviour. Manchester needs to learn from cities that can deliver a well run service because Burnham and the operators of Manchester metrolink clearly can't.
Review of CSSC Sports & Leisure
I have been a member for over a decade. Participated in a number of events in my early years and volunteered to run events myself. Since Covid the offer has dropped off and I have been too busy to volunteer as often, as it can be a big time commitment.
The reason for my 1 star review is the farcical CSSC Big Team Challenge. They offered a free OS maps subscription to those who took part. But without telling anyone the number of free subscriptions were capped. When I applied for mine I was told the limit had been reached. However the CSSC Big Team Challenge had been open to non-members along with this offer. So CSSC may have been paying for this benefit for non-members while not honouring it for their own. I raised the issue with the CSSC contact but no-one from CSSC could be bothered to get back to me.

Review of Nationwide
Locked me out of my current and savings accounts because they said they either didn't hold ID for me or it was out of date. But they gave me no notice, they wrote me a letter on the day they froze my account informing me they were going to do so and posted it second class, so in effect they notified me over a week later. According to nationwide that was adequate and they did nothing wrong. Amazingly the Financial ombudsman agreed. I was a long standing customer of around 30 years. I had numerous accounts with nationwide, some I had opened recently, and an umblemished credit history. I think at the very least they could have asked me to bring in some ID before locking me out of my accounts. Their action among other things led me to miss a credit card payment

Review of Philips
I returned an order. Philips sent me the return labelling. The return address was in Gloucester but it was rerouted and ended up in Dunfermline. I checked with Philips and they confirmed receipt so I assumed it was OK. About 1.5 weeks later it was redelivered to my address. I checked and noticed I hadn't been refunded. I contacted Philips customer services who just read from a script, are robotic, and largely useless. After some back and forth they said they couldn't refund me until they had the product. So I had to go through the return process again. The return address label was Gloucester again but with a bit more detail. Anyway the same happened again it was out for delivery in Gloucester but was then rerouted and delivered to Dunfermline. I had to chase up customer services again, again their service was very poor, and getting any answers was difficult. I eventually got my refund but nearly 2 months after I first returned it. It was a great relief to get my refund, I feared I would never get it. But it shouldn't be like that, I can't understand how a big company like Philips can be so poorly managed and have such poor customer service. I certainly won't buy from them again. I looked on Google out of interest for the Gloucester address and there doesn't seem to be anything there except a farm.
Review of Bellway
Nearly all the positive reviews are via links Bellway send to customers when they visit a site or first reserve a property. Remove those and this is a 2 star builder at best. In our case we didn't give an entirely positive review. Bellway made sure we suffered. They pulled out at exchange of contracts. They didn't even have the decency to tell us or our solicitor. We had to chase them up for a couple of days to find out what had happened. They threatened to keep hold of our deposit if we complained. We lost money in solicitor and mortgage broker fees but it was an insight into how Bellway treat people in reality.

Review of AKU trekking & outdoor footwear
The soles on my AKU boots came off when descending from the Old Man of Conniston. They only had moderate wear and had been well looked after. Had they been budget boots I would have been very disappointed with the performance but possibly put it down to buying cheap, although I hadn't experienced anything similar before. As they were expensive boots from a supposedly good brand, I alerted customer services expecting them to care. They just shrugged their shoulders and told me to look into getting them re-soled myself. I will stay well clear of AKU in future.
Review of Octopus Energy
Generally been happy with Octopus. But lately decided to get smart meters installed (as recommended).
In this respect Octopus have been terrible. I am still waiting for functioning smart meters, the stories/reasons given have changed, I have been significantly inconvenienced waiting in for engineers and found customer service to be very slow to respond and unhelpful

Review of Hmrc
Unbelievably bad, totally incompetent, beyond parody. Impossible to do simple things on their online website. Can't send them a message to action a simple change which affects my taxable income. You have no choice but to phone to speak to an adviser. First 2 attempts were just cut off abruptly. 3rd attempt on hold for well over 1 hour before I finally managed to speak to an agent. She said she needed to put me on hold for a minute while she actioned the change. While I was on hold I got a 'thankyou for your call, goodbye' and it hung up. I just have to hope that she actioned the change.
Review of BT
I am a BT shareholder and long standing customer and very annoyed with BT. I was obviously expecting a big increase of 14.4%. However I got an email telling me of my price increase and it was 23.4%.
I contacted BT expecting it to be a mistake and to be corrected, I had only recently taken out a new 2 year contract. Well their attitude was appalling, after being directed all over the place I was put in contact with someone who basically just told me that's the price increase and there's nothing that can be done about it. They couldn't even explain how they had calculated the price increase. I logged a complaint and later received an email saying they had resolved my complaint despite doing nothing to resolve it.
I don't have fibre so my broadband is basic so I was hardly getting a good deal to start off with.
Anyway another customer they have lost, which is disappointing if you have an interest in them doing well, but I can't give them my business in good conscience. BT get your act together
Review of interactive investor
Been with ii for at least 20 years under different iterations, and would have recommended it in the past but no longer, there are far better and cheaper alternatives. Recently it appears, and if they informed their customers I missed it, they have removed the ability to carry trading credit over. For the past 4 years or so you could carry £2 of your £9.99 monthly fee over if you didn't trade that month. As someone who trades very little, certainly not every month, and basically uses ii to hold investment I had built up a reasonable balance to trade when I want to, not when ii insist I must do. Previously you could carry over more of your fees than just the £2, so it was better still, and I believe there was no monthly fee at one point, though it's a distant memory so I may be wrong. I hope someone from ii reads this and they reconsider their pricing structure, as they are becoming unreasonable and uncompetitive.

Review of Bellway
Interested to see other reviews of Bellway pulling out of sales at the last minute, causing lots of trouble and expense to their customers. In my case I was due to complete and pay my 10% deposit which was with my solicitor, this was on a Friday. My solicitor were confident there was nothing wrong with the transaction but mentioned that the had tried to make payment but not heard from Bellway's solicitors. Then at close to 5pm I got a call from my solicitor saying Bellway had decided to pull out. Bellway never had the courtesy to contact me, their solicitor just sent a short 1 sentence notification. That's the kind of business Bellway is.
When I finally managed to get hold of them they pretty much told me to walk away, saying I would receive my £1000 deposit if I did, seeming to suggest that if I kicked up a fuss or complained I might not see it. I was understandably annoyed and out of pocket having paid for solicitors and a mortgage broker. Had I done what Bellway did they could have kept £500 of my £1000 deposit. I checked the various codes and I was entitled to nothing which shows how one sided everything is when you are buying a new build and how builders like Bellway exploit it.

Review of TransPennine Express
Horrible, shameless, and totally incompetent company. Cancel services without a care for the repercussions it has on people. In my case, and I am sure it's the same with others that means getting home hours later than you should and incurring costs for taxis etc, because you miss the last bus service.
Review of Manchester Airport
Terrible, shameless, money grabbing, unprofessional airport. As someone who lives in Manchester it is embarrassing. The council (s) own it and it has been a good money generator in better times, but they need to remember people can go elsewhere. I would advice anyone to do that and avoid it if they can.
On arrival the plane had to wait 45 minutes for a gate. Then over an hour for luggage at a very quiet airport. But that's not my moan. You have to pay (and it's non-refundable) for baggage trolley. People were paying but the systems were faulty and they weren't getting their trolley. Staff were hard to come by, and weren't particularly bothered, all you could get out of them, and I quote 'I know, it's s**t'.
Its not much when you consider all the airport taxes, cost of dropping off (even for a few minutes), extortionate costs for pickup parking, to just provide free baggage trolleys. But if you are going to be greedy and charge, make sure the machines work.
Review of Northernrailway
Very unreliable. Have made me miss connecting services. Have also made me miss last public transport. Don't think I have been on a service that has run to time in 4 years. And we are not talking about a fast demanding service, speeds are not much quicker than a horse and cart on the Leeds to Manchester line, and they still can't run to time. An absolute disgrace and national embarrassment, the company should hang its head in shame.
Review of SDL Property Management
This company has changed name multiple times in the past couple of years, and is now no longer trading under this name. However I wanted to put on record my terrible experience with this company that echoes most others.
They are dishonest, deceitful crooks. They don't deserve a star but you have to give a minimum of 1. They mismanaged my block of flats and estate for 4 years. For about half of that they provided no services of note, we continued to pay our service charges because you have to in a leasehold and on the back of numerous broken promises. They falsified accounts and when errors were pointed out to them, even when they admitted to them, they didn't correct them. They failed to produce accounts and invoices for the final 3 years, and couldn't account for literally £10,000s. Despite having £1000s of errors set out in detail for them in the one accounts they did provide, they have maintained throughout that the estate is in deficit. To add insult we recently found that they had been overcharging us for utilities and worse still not paying the bill.
You may wonder how this is possible but this is an industry/ sector like no other. As a leaseholder you are in breach of your lease if you don't pay a service charge even when you are not receiving a service. You have to deal with a landlord and in our case management company who appointed SDL. Safe to say it's a broken system where leaseholders have limited power. So it's open to abuse/ poor service which SDL excelled at. In a rotten sector, SDL is its most dishonest and crooked player.
